The new Ducati Panigale V4 R is definitely not your ordinary streetbike. After all, it is created by the renowned superbike-maker from Bologna, Italy and is essentially a race bike that you can ride on the road. Indeed, the Panigale V4 R is one of the most extreme conventionally powered sports bikes available on the market today.

Smaller Yet More Powerful V4 Engine

Compared to the Ducati Panigale V4, the Panigale V4 R has a smaller engine. Nonetheless, the 998-cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 engine in the Panigale V4 R delivers more power than the 1,103-cc V4 mill in the Panigale V4. Its stroke has been shortened to 48.4 mm, resulting in a shorter travel distance per revolution. Because of this, the Panigale V4 R engine delivers a peak output of 221 hp at 15,250 rpm. The max torque of 83 lb.-ft., on the other hand, is achieved at 11,500 rpm.

If you think this amount of power isn't enough, then Ducati is offering to take the level up a few notches with the fitment of a Ducati Performance full-racing exhaust by Akrapovic. Along with a more dynamic growl, this Akrapovic exhaust brings the power output of the 998-cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 engine to 234 hp at 15,500 rpm.

Race-Derived Aerodynamics

The overwhelming power of the Ducati Panigale V4 R is matched by an impressive aerodynamics package as well. For instance, the protective windscreen works with a wider headlight fairing that better shields both the arms and shoulders of the rider, thereby reducing aerodynamic resistance. The wider side fairing also helps reduce aerodynamic resistance.

Furthermore, the Ducati Panigale V4 R comes fitted with aerodynamic appendices derived from the GP16. These include a trapezoidal single-element monoplane cowling, a longitudinal bulkhead, as well as the so-called winglet that insulates air flowing on the surface. The appendices – all made from carbon fiber – improve the bikes stability in any riding phase while reducing intervention of electronic controls.

Available At$40,000

Interestingly, the height of the rear swinging arm pivot can be adjusted to any of four positions (in steps of 2 mm). This makes it possible to adapt the Ducati Panigale V4 R to your riding style as well as to the type of track where it is being piloted. If you’re ready to experience the racing adrenaline being offered by Ducati Panigale V4 R, pricing starts at $40,000.
