From a styling standpoint the 2022 Ducati Diavel 1260 S is one of the most impressive and imposing motorcycles on the market. So, when Italian manufacturer Ducati announces that they are updating, altering, or changing the bike in any way, motorcycle enthusiasts around the world clamor to see what's been done to this beauty from Bologna. The latest modifications have been labeled Black and Steel, and while mainly aesthetic, the new livery definitely brings new life to this magnificent machine.

What Is New On The Diavel 1260 S Black And Steel

A menacing muscle cruiser, the Diavel has infused the motorcycling world with plenty of attitude since its debut in 2010. Over time this bold bike has received multiple design awards and has been a favorite among moto-journalists around the world. With a 1,262 cc Testastretta DVT engine that delivers 162 hp at 9,500 rpm, the Diavel delivers ALL of the performance one would expect from a Ducati, even with that 240 mm rear tire. It defies expectation, so for this latest update the folks at Ducati handed the Diavel over the the designers and left the engineering alone.

Adorned in asymmetrical graphics that combine glossy gray and matte black, with eye-catching yellow accents, the Black and Steel edition was inspired by the Diavel "Materico" concept bike that was presented at Milan Design Week in 2019. To highlight the production model, Ducati will be showcasing the Black and Steel at the 2021 MIMO Motor Show from June 10–13, including a display on the iconic Piazza Duomo in Milan. Against such a backdrop, the Black and Steel is sure to dazzle the fans of Ducati.

The Black and Steel will arrive in dealerships starting in July 2021 and will join the 1260 and 1260 S in the Diavel lineup. Last year, Ducati also partnered with Lamborghini (a sister company under VW/Audi) to release a special edition. That Diavel 1260 Lamborghini model is far more exclusive, as Ducati only released 630 examples, but the Black and Steel will enter the lineup in wider distribution. So, while this newest Diavel will be strutting down the runway to flaunt its Italian fashion, this cool cruiser will also be hitting the road and should be far more accessible than its Lambo brethen.
