It's probably fair to say that Lada is a bit of a joke of a company to some car enthusiasts. Their vehicles have served as something of a meme, and clearly a product of the Soviet Union. Despite all of those jokes though, Lada is very much still going, making cars such as the Niva. And who said a Lada could never be cool when you have creations like this? A render artist named Mikhail Sachko on Behance created this sensational model of a Lada 2104 that’s become the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, one of America's greatest classic cars.

The Lada 2104 is also known as the Riva and the Nova, and was a car produced by the company in its 2104 guise from 1984 and, remarkably, right up until 2012. The Ecto-1, meanwhile, was the vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel across New York as they went along busting ghosts and other such entities. The Ecto-1 was in actual fact a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis. This Lada rendering features an interpretation of the iconic livery that the 2104 wore, with the white all-over and the red striping near the rear and the large Ghostbusters logo on the side.

Unpacking All The Ecto-4's Details

There are plenty of details from the Ecto-1 present across this Lada. The roof rack has plenty of equipment present, such as muon scrubbers, a radio GPS locator, high-intensity microfoams, and EMF scrubbers as well. This is all atop the Lada, with a ladder on the side to enable a Ghostbuster to gain access to the equipment. That really though is where the main Ghostbuster similarities end, with other details being more to bulk up the appearance of the car, while trying to be as Ghostbuster-like as it can possibly be with a Lada 2104.

This 'Ghostbusters' Lada Is Wide

It's fair to say that this Lada has become a bit of a widebody monster. The car has some pretty extravagant wheel fender flares now, with the hood of the car featuring quite a large bulge, presumably hiding that a new powertrain is powering the Lada. The wheels are clearly different to standard, and whilst modern they aim to recreate the whitewall look of the 1959 Cadillac used by the Ghostbusters. The tires are Goodyear Eagle tires, and the larger fenders at the rear with red striping aim to create the red fins seen on the Cadillac.
