Tesla’s Model S Plaid is perhaps the most anticipated car in the second quarter of 2021. Potential owners can’t wait to get their hands on the new units, especially after word got out about Laguna Seca lap times. Tesla was set to start deliveries of the anticipated Model S Plaid on June 3, but Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, through his Twitter handle, said the date had been pushed to June 10.

Andrew Erickson, of YouTube channel Tailosive EV, released a video of what surprises fans can potentially expect during the Model S Plaid delivery event in Fremont.

"Tesla Plaid Model S delivery event would be tomorrow if we weren’t on Elon time,” Andrew remarked.

Tesla Model S Plaid Delayed to June 10

Tesla delayed the Model S Plaid delivery to June 10, just a week back, because they had to do some fine tweaking on the units. There have also been photos of Model S sedans stacking up at the Fremont factory, and potential Tesla owners are hoping the delivery date doesn’t get delayed again.

Andrew went ahead to discuss what many Tesla fans are hoping for. Will there be any kind of Easter eggs or last-minute changes during this delivery event? Tesla has built a reputation to awe its fans during launch events, and many people wonder if this event could be any different considering the auto company has a lot on its itinerary.

“Everyone is kind of hoping to relive that moment again that we had for the Tesla-semi event, which I think of all events Tesla has ever had that one was probably the most exciting,” He said.

Tesla’s been doing a lot of marketing on the Roadster. They even had it at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Tesla confirmed the Roadster would come with the Space X Package. The Space X Package’s 0-60 mph figures are estimated at unbelievably 1.1 seconds, which is crazy fast.

“So how cool would it be for them to bring out the updated Roadster design which Elon mentioned would be better than the original prototype?” He stated.

The Tesla Roadster is yet to get into production and is much older than every Y Model on the road, the Cybertruck, and a vast majority of the Model 3s. Andrew feels the delivery event would be an excellent time for Tesla to bring out the updated design and probably give some specs and talk about the Space X Package.

“I would also love if they talked about the Plaid powertrain as a whole because that is supposed to be the main focus here.” He suggested.

Tesla Might Unveil the Roadster

It probably wouldn’t be the best time to talk about the Plaid Plus since Tesla had turned off the ordering option on their website. It’s not clear why they did that, but Andrew speculates it's probably because it got more orders than the Model S Plaid due for delivery first.

Tesla might not unveil the Roadster and talk about its new features since it will detract from the purpose of the delivery event. However, it could be the best time to talk about its tri-motor vehicles.

“Tesla has technically not delivered any Tri-motor vehicles yet. At this event, they can kind of talk about all the advantages and the reason they stuck with the three motors and not four. The kind of insane acceleration this allows for and hopefully how it can prioritize energy efficiency as well,” he stated.

Many Tesla models are expected to adopt the Tri-motor powertrain within the next year, including the Cybertruck.

“It would be nice if at this event they could talk a bit more about the full self-driving beta and how it’s going to be rolling out to more people and the full self-driving subscription that he keeps saying,” said Andrew.

Since it's going to be a livestream event, many Tesla fans, Andrew included, feel there’s got to be a little more to it than just the delivery. Let’s hope Tesla has some Easter eggs come June 10. Everyone is expecting a little bit more than the Model S Plaid.
