General Motors has big ambitions for the electrification of its lineup, and by 2025, it has already set a target of electrifying 40 percent of its lineup. Its chief brand, Chevrolet, is already in sync with the plan with new-generation offerings like Silverado EV and Blazer EV. The carmaker already has affordable EVs like the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, and the carmaker is stepping up with an all-new electric vehicle for the masses, the all-new Chevrolet Equinox EV. While Chevrolet is already raking in decent numbers with the Bolt EV and EUV duo, the carmaker aspires to go big and attract more new-gen buyers with the Equinox EV.

Based on General Motors’ highly-versatile Ultium platform, the new Chevrolet Equinox EV will be positioned slightly above the Bolt EV, with a starting price of around $30,000. The Equinox EV will enter into production in 2023 at GM’s Ramos Arizpe production facility in Mexico as a 2024 model. It will take on EVs like Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in the affordable EV category for the masses after its launch in the fall of 2023. Here’s a detailed look at everything the new Chevrolet Equinox will have on offer.

The new-generation car buyers want their cars to look youthful and futuristic, and Chevrolet has made a great attempt to make the Equinox EV look like one. Like the new-generation EV offerings from Chevrolet, the Equinox EV not shares much with its ICE counterpart. It has a closed grille at the front, with wraparound black strips on its sides accommodating the headlamps. It has a sleek-looking strip of daytime running LED across the width of the front fascia above the closed grille, with the Chevy bowtie logo in the middle.

The side profile of the Chevrolet Equinox EV looks planted with raked pillars, while the rear profile too looks captivating with a wide-looking strip of all-LED lighting across the boot lid's width. There will be two trim levels for the Equinox EV – LT and RS. While the LT models will have a white roof and body-colored closed grille, the RS variants will come with a gloss black roof and closed grille. Even the alloy wheel options for the two trim levels look different.
