The HOSS 3.0 (High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension) Pack is a new, optional suspension package that Ford made available for their 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak. It has a plethora of new, practical, efficient features, and is one of many options available for that model. It has a level of exclusivity to it, as only certain customers are eligible to add it onto their existing package. Its various components work together to improve suspension and handle more weight than the Bronco could before the package, and off-road-capability is also increased as a result.

Read on to find out more about the HOSS 3.0 Pack and how it works with the 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak.

The HOSS 3.0 (High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension) bundle is a $2,500 package full of optional yet practical and highly-desired features. It's an optional suspension package for the Wildtrak trim in both two-door and four-door models, and it does a lot for the existing vehicle. For example, it includes a front skid plate, front tow hooks, steel bash plates, and a powder-coated front steel bumper with integrated fog lights, and it revises spring rates and combines Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass dampers.

One catch about the HOSS 3.0 bundle is that not everyone has access to it, as it specifically only for reservation holders and unscheduled order holders. This package improves suspension, off-road-capability, strength, and weight management. The Bronco Raptor contributed the upgraded steering rack and with it, the Bronco can handle 40 percent more maximum load. The newly-upgraded inner and outer tie rods also increase strength 32%, with a rear stabilizer bar added for good measure.

Fox shocks do their part to increase off-road capabilities and make the ride more comfortable overall, also being more sturdy and stable to hold up better over time. Aluminum bodies are also included in an attempt to make heat dissipation much more effective. It's also of note that of all the Bronco variants currently available, the Wildtrak version is the one most ready and equipped to handle off-roading.

Expect A Price Increase

Ford is planning to increase prices for their 2022 model year vehicles. However, a few Bronco models have been exempt. Note that the Wildtrak already had a starting MSRP of $49,275. With the new HOSS 3.0 package now available, emphasis is now on the Bronco and its variants. They have also put previous optional packages, like the standard Wildtrak model's Sasquatch package, to shame with their superior capabilities and more efficient and practical results.

It also helps that the Raptor rides on standard 37-inch tires, while the Bronco Wildtrak gets a more premium treatment with 35-inch all-terrain tires. Sadly, because of the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage, orders for the Bronco have been unable to be filled in a prompt and timely manner. This has resulted in Ford declaring a price increase for the 2022 model year. The Bronco Sport was exempt, likely because it had multiple price increases in rapid succession prior to the shortage. Further, the Everglades and Bronco Raptor are also exempt because they recently had their price configurators added to the main Ford Bronco website.

That said, not all Bronco editions emerge unscathed; expect increases of $1,500 for the base model, Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Outer Banks two-door models, and expect a $2,000 increase for the Wildtrak and Badlands editions. To offset this price increase, Ford offers supplementary delivery allowance, which is basically a form of price protection. Certain customers that had orders placed by August 2021 and affected by the supply chain issue of the hardtop will be eligible. This program is set to continue through December 2023, and protection covers order holders prior to March 24, 2021

Base Stats Are Booming Before Options

Even without options, the standard features of the 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak are notable. Certain accessories can be purchased individually, hence their absence from the overall price. Also, given the supply chain issues, certain accessories will not be immediately available. A few available accessories include the Sportz SUV Tents by Napier for $429 and the Tailgate Folding Table for $209. The 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlamps with signature lighting, front row heated seats, automatic temperature control, sound deadening headliner, a remote start system, and a 2.7-Liter EcoBoost Engine at no extra cost.

Not The Only Additional Option

Ford included several options and packages for the 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak beyond those of the HOSS 3.0 bundle. A manual transmission option will now be available for the Sasquatch off-road package. An Everglades Edition model with a snorkel and Warn winch will also join Ford's 2022 lineup, and the Black Diamond and Badlands models also have the option of adding the powder-coated front bumper from the HOSS 3.0 bundle.
