It’s been quite a while since Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson became a household name. Before conquering the film industry, becoming the most paid actor in Hollywood, "The Rock" conquered the wrestling world. It was in the WWE that he fought his way to the top of the ladder in what he called “shark-infested waters.” It was no easy feat either, but he made it look like a walk in the park.

With the horrible news of his father’s passing recently (the late, great, Rocky Johnson), our collective hearts reach out to this tremendous superstar.

We’ve decided to honor Dwayne and his father the only way we know how here at HotCars: by honoring his close connection to cars. As the star of Hobbs and Shaw, The Fast and The Furious franchise, and Ballers, Dwayne sure has steered enough vehicles away from peril. Still, his personal collection isn’t as exotic as you would think.

He Seems To Prefer "Beastly" Vehicles

His Ford F150, in particular, seems to be quite the trusted steed for him. We've seen countless images of him arriving at the airport in this beast. And he seems to be quite fond of it.

Although he does supposedly own a Rolls Royce Wraith (black), which we have seen him arrive at the airport with, we rarely see images of him with other vehicles. There are also some fuzzy images of Dwayne with a matte-white LaFerrari. He was given the vehicle as "a complimentary lease," as reported by carkeys.co.uk, but couldn't fit in the car!

There is a common misconception about his collection, because of the types of vehicles he drives in his films. Many have mistaken the vehicles he's posed with or filmed with, as being a part of his collection, but this couldn't be further from the truth.

He's a tad secretive about what he's got in the garage (as is his right). So, other than loads of gym equipment, we're pretty certain that you'll find huge trucks and larger vehicles rather than swanky sports cars in there.

And there's a very good reason for this of course. Just look at the size of his frame. The man is huge! He takes care of himself vigorously with diet and exercise, working out different body parts a day. And at the same time, he's over six feet tall.

He's Always One To Give Back

One of Dwayne's favorite quotes is: It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." This sentence alone speaks volumes about the man himself. He has proven this time and time again.

He has actually gifted vehicles to not only members of his family, but to housekeepers and stuntmen as well. We all thought Oprah was generous with her giveaways. But she's nothing compared to Dwayne Johnson.

Here he is, above, with his dad. He had just given him an SUV for Christmas. Dwayne posted this image with some heartfelt words about his Dad, as was reported by People.com.

The Vehicles In His Many Appearances In Film & TV

We can appreciate the fact that he is a little more practical when it comes to his vehicles. However, we can also celebrate the incredible vehicles he's driven in film and TV ...like the above shot of him with a Monster Truck from Ballers.

The ludicrous Monster trucks aside, the sports cars on that show were definitely plentiful. And the cars weren't the only snazzy things to see on the set of that successful show, as his suits were always pretty epic as well.

And who can forget the awesome vehicles he drove in the Fast and Furious films he was in? Not to mention the vehicles that were showcased in Hobbs & Shaw? And for us fans of his earlier movies, who can forget the impeccable Chevrolet Chevelle in Faster?

Epic Co-Stars

And hey ... we're not just talking about the incredibly talented Andy Garcia, who starred in Ballers with him. The cars themselves have all served as backdrops or even characters to the drama and action that unfolded onscreen in some of his work.

But at the end of the day, and no matter what he drives at home, we thank him for being the ambassador of toughness that he is. On the set, in the gym, in life, and behind the wheel.
