Drag racing is certainly one of the purest forms of motorsports. There is nothing better than just getting two fast cars and pitting them against each other in a straight line fight. Just foot to the floor and power down the drag strip. It's even more fun if you do it with friends, or even with your significant other. This couple decided to take the Jeep Trackhawk and Dodge Durango Hellcat out to Byron Dragway, and race each other in what was bracket-style racing.

Trackhawk Vs Durango

Bracket-style racing is essentially where two vehicles of varying performance potentials can race each other on a potentially even basis. Essentially, the slower car will get a head start in the race, with a chosen elapsed time referred to as dial-in. Whoever is closest to their dial-in without running faster will get the win. The first race sees Tom Bernick drive the Trackhawk and his wife Sue is in the Durango, and she gets her dial-in absolutely spot on and thus takes home the victory with a pretty impressive run down the strip.

The video of the races is on the YouTube channel RACE YOUR RIDE. The video states that the second race is an old-fashioned run what you brung drag race, a more traditional type of drag racing. And while Sue won the first race, Tom got the upper hand in the second race and he accelerated away from the line in the Jeep and crushed the Durango, crossing the line in 10.76 seconds while Sue crossed the line later with an 11.59 second elapsed time. So then, that left the racing at one-all between the husband and wife.

Bragging Rights Will Have To Wait

As the video shows and the description states, the couple took part in just the two races and won one each. There was no chance for the couple to go and take bragging rights over the other person, so that will have to wait. The racing does though highlight how good it is to take part in bracket racing from time to time, and it will certainly be interesting to wonder what the conversation at the dinner table was like that night about the day's events! Drag racing is fun for all the family it seems.
