For a lot of us, the most important thing about a car is speed, and when it comes to all around speed and power, supercars do it best. They have a unique style to them, from their design to the colors to the raw power and impressive top speeds. They have become icons in the auto industry. Sure, someone can build a car with all the power of a supercar, or even more, for less money than buying say a Ferrari or Lamborghini, but while it is impressive it is just not the same. They have a uniqueness to them that makes that astounding price tag seem reasonable. Like, for instance, no one has ever heard a supercar drive by and think that it was a 350Z or a Honda.
They are identifiable just by their sound alone, and then there is the flashy style they have that just takes over the roads and demands attention. But there have been so many models over the years, and even new sub-models that made the base look like a cheap knock-off, that it is hard to keep up with all of them. It is even harder still to keep track of which ones are the absolute fastest, so we have gone ahead and done the hard part, and compiled the 25 fastest supercars of 2018, meaning these are the fastest of the fast as of 2018, including models from previous years. They are in no particular order.
25 Saleen S7 TT
The beast of the 200os, the Saleen S7 was the fastest production car when it came out. It has a very sleek yet simple design to it that holds a whopping 550 horsepower. Then, they decided to turbocharge it, and the twin turbo model had way more power, coming in with 750 horsepower and a crazy top speed of 248 miles per hour, which made the S7 TT way ahead of its time, in terms of power. It is still one of the most iconic supercars to date, and still one of the fastest.
24 Lykan Hypersport
The Lykan Hypersport has been something of dreams ever since it came out, as it is one of the absolute heights of automotive engineering. It features a 3.7L twin turbo flat 6 that cranks out a wild 770 horsepower. It also features a lightweight carbon fiber body that allows it to use all that power to go from 0-60 miles per hour in only 2.8 seconds. 23 Lamborghini Murcielago 670-4 SV
Lamborghini has been a giant name in the auto world ever since arriving on the scene with their sleek style and ferocious power. The name Lamborghini is synonymous with speed, power, and luxury. But no model has as much power as the Murcielago SV. It has a mighty 6.5L V12 that cranks out a ridiculous 661 horsepower. It also has a neck-breaking top speed of 212 miles per hour. Combine that with the iconic Lambo style of sharp edges and a wide stance and it is a force to be reckoned with.
22 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
The Veyron Super Sport is the absolute top of the line Veyron model produced, and it has a pretty hefty price tag as you would expect, at 2.4 million dollars. It is worth that, assuming you have the money to blow. It, like most Bugatti models, comes with a W16 motor that allows it to reach top speeds of 267 miles per hour. The Veyron Super Sport also comes with a unique and stylish paint job and all the luxuries that Bugatti is known for. That is for a good reason, which is because it is just too powerful and too good looking to not want one. The Aventador has a 6.5L V12 engine that allows it to go 217 miles per hour. While its top speed is a little higher than the Murcielago SV, it does not have quite the acceleration or torque that it had, but it does come with a smaller price tag.
18 Koenigsegg Regera
The Regera is truly a force to be reckoned with when it comes to supercars. It has only one gear, eliminating any need to shift and any chance for turbo lag. It has a combined power output of 1,797 horsepower that stems from a 5.0L twin turbo V8 motor that pushes out most of the power, at 1,1oo horses. It also has three electric motors that make up the power difference. It has a limited top speed of 255 miles per hour, which is more than enough speed, but still limiting that power is kind of sad.
17 Ferrari Enzo
Ferrari is one of the first names that comes up in any conversation about supercars, and for good reason. They have a reputation for being pretty freaking fast. Like the Enzo, for example. It has a jaw-dropping top speed of 226 miles per hour and can go from 0-60 miles per hour in only 3.14 seconds. As if that is not impressive enough, it can hit 100 miles per hour in only 6.6 seconds. And the best part is, all of that power is wrapped up in one of the sleekest Ferrari models ever produced.
16 McLaren P1
The McLaren P1 is one of a kind. Fun fact, there is no insurance policy to cover this car. That means if someone wrecks a P1 it is actually cheaper to buy a new one than to fix it. That says a lot when it costs well over a million dollars. The P1 has a twin turbo 3,8L V8 engine that produces a remarkable 903 horsepower. It also has a top speed of 239 miles per hour, making it an all-around powerhouse. The P1 is also one of the hottest supercars out there, with a design that will make anyone look twice.

That adds an element of rarity to the Veneno, as if it needed anything else to make it special with that 6.5L V12. Sure, it is the same engine size as many other models, but this one pushes out an insane 750 horsepower, and even better, it can go from 0-60 miles per hour in only 2.8 seconds, which is the fastest we have seen so far. The Veneno can also reach impressive speeds of 221 miles per hour.
12 Gumpert Apollo
The Gumpert Apollo is probably the closest thing you can get to a race car that is still street legal, and it comes to us from the Germany-based auto group, Gumpert. It features a lightweight build and has a powerful twin-turbo Audi R8 motor that cranks out 789 horsepower. It also features a sort of classic design and even T-Top doors.

It has an impressive top speed of 217 miles per hour, which is very fast now, but was absolutely unthinkable for its time.
8 Pagani Huayra
The Huayra is one of the most unique looking supercars on the market today, looking almost more like a spaceship than a car. It features a twin turbo V12 motor that cranks out 720 horsepower. It looks like something a masked billionaire superhero would drive around in, and not just because he is the only one that can afford it.
6 McLaren F1
The F1 is one of the most well-known supercars ever and sure brought McLaren into the spotlight. It is one of the rarest supercars as well, with only 106 models ever produced. In its prime, it was the fastest car in the world, and even today it holds up with an amazing top speed of 240 miles per hour, which is still faster than a lot of the fastest cars in 2018.
