The Ferrari 812 GTS owner drove a supercar to one of the lakes in Northern Italy. Although it's unclear what happened, it appears that the owner forgot to put the parking brake on the 812 GTS, leaving the roadster gearbox in neutral. As a result, the supercar parked on a slight incline rolled down the pier and then fell into the lake.

Putting a Ferrari with a dual-clutch in neutral is not an easy task even though it was staying on a slight incline. Initially, for this, it is necessary to activate both paddle shifters. Moreover, at the same time, the Park Lock function is automatically activated, thanks to which the car cannot independently move from the place. So the driver could accidentally activate the car wash mode. Only then the supercar could independently move into the lake.

Noticing the movement of the Ferrari, the driver tried to stop the supercar. However, he failed. Due to the inattention of the owner, the car worth $400,000 had to be taken out of the water using a tow truck. The driver was lucky that the depth of the lake was shallow. Otherwise, the 812 GTS was unlikely to be restored.

At the same time, the car turned out to be in the lake with the top removed, but it is not known whether water got into the cabin. In the photo, the depth looks insufficient for this.

The Ferrari 812 GTS is the most powerful road car of the Italian brand. The supercar is equipped with a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with 800 horsepower and 718 Nm. The roadster accelerates to 60 miles in 2.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 210 miles per hour.

In April last year in the United States, another supercar, the McLaren 600 LT, became a victim of water and the driver's frivolity. Its driver was trying to move a coupe through a rainy intersection located in the lowlands.
