Ferrari has a long running history in the car world, which is evident seeing as the company has produced some of the best sports cars the world has ever seen. Ferrari has probably produced more highly sought-after classics than any other car brand, and the new Ferrari F8 Tributo could be one for the history books.

It certainly has the looks to become a future classic and some of the performance tweaks and slight upgrades from the previous 488 model help it become one of the hottest performance cars in the current market. Below are some of its coolest features.

10 Variable Torque Management

There's a new system on the F8 which hopes to offer customers a similar experience as to what they had with older naturally aspirated Ferraris. This new, unique system is called Variable Torque Management and is part of the seven-speed transmission.

It works by limiting the torque available in some gears, thus affecting the torque curve, this essentially mimics the torque delivery behavior of naturally-aspirated engines. It's an interesting system and Ferrari manages to incorporate torque delivery by lowering the turbocharger boost.

9 Better Fuel Economy Than Rivals

Fuel economy is very rarely the reason anyone would consider buying a supercar, in fact, it's probably the last thing on people's minds. However, it's always something that should be considered regardless, and it seems the new F8 may be more fuel-efficient than first expected.

The 2021 F8 Tributo will get around 15 MPG in the city and between 18 and 19 MPG on the highway. This is actually slightly better mileage than you'll get with rivals such as the Lamborghini Huracán which can only average up to 13 MPG within city driving and 18 MPG with highway driving.

8 Styling

It can always be said that Ferrari has incredibly good-looking cars. It's difficult to think of Ferraris of the past that didn't look spectacular and the new F8 Tributo is certainly in form. It may even be one of the best-looking Ferraris of all time.

It's slightly more understated than some competitors, like Lamborghini, and even some past Ferraris. It's got smoother lines rather than the sharp, harsh edges you would typically find on Lamborghinis and looks all the better for it. There's even a new engine cover that is reminiscent of the Ferrari F40 which looks outstanding and keeps with the smooth lines and curves of the bodywork.

7 The Aerodynamics

The styling of the F8 also goes hand in hand with the aerodynamics. For supercars, good aerodynamics are essential for cutting through the air and to keep the car level and grounded and this new addition from Ferrari certainly goes the extra mile.

The F8 Tributo takes what former Ferrari mid-engine supercars have done and goes that much further with downforce and aerodynamics. The F8 Tributo features what Ferrari calls an “S-Duct” on the front of the car. This directs air over the front and forces the nose of the car down. It actually increases downforce by 15 percent.

6 Top Speed And Performance

We could hardly talk about a new Ferrari without mentioning how fast it is in terms of top speed and acceleration. This new Ferrari is based on the slightly older 488 and that should tell you everything you need to know about its performance.

It has a fairly similar performance to the 488 that preceded it; a 211 MPH top speed with a 0-60 MPH time of around 2.80 seconds. The track performance of this car is where it stands out most. The new aerodynamic setup as well as its new lighter weight parts should help it handle like a dream, and it certainly has the power to easily keep up with its competitors.

5 710 HP V8

Going further into the engine, the 710 HP V8 in the F8 Tributo is actually the same engine found in the 488 Pista, the car the F8 is based on. The 710 HP produced actually make the F8 the most powerful conventional V8-powered Ferrari ever produced.

The engine itself does still have some slight improvements however, The combustion efficiency of the engine is improved due to specific intake plenums and manifolds with optimized fluid dynamics, thanks to the reduction of the temperature of the air in the cylinder, which also helps boost power.

4 The Spider

Like some other past Ferrari models, the new F8 Tributo comes with a Spider variation. This is great for those who prefer an open-top driving experience, and it looks just as cool and to some, even better than the standard hard-top.

On the surface, the spider isn't too different from the standard model and this is actually a good thing. Ferrari has managed to make the spider perform identically to the coupe F8, and this is great, as often the added weight compromises the drive and feel making people opt out of buying convertible editions of cars. This is partly down to the new car only weighing around 44-lbs more than the 488 Pista spider that preceded it.

3 Comfortable Interior

Ferrari's supercars have always had a racier base than a lot of other production cars. This often means that there are huge amounts of carbon fiber and fewer features and creature comfort than other luxurious cars. The new F8 seems to be made with comfort and style in mind.

The F8 Tributo and Spider provide roomy seating for two people and provide a pleasant, comfortable space. The sporty design features help give the interior a performance-like aesthetic, but it's not overdone like with comparable car brands, and it manages to keep a race feel but without compromising on luxury or comfort.

2 Lighter Parts

To elaborate on the weight of the F8 as we touched on earlier, the new Ferrari was actually developed with some brand-new lighter weight parts. The engine takes advantage from using newer internals.

The re-engineered internals of the 3.9-liter, twin-turbo V8 also include lighter hardware. Some of the features include: a new crankshaft, flywheel, exhaust manifolds (made using Inconel alloys), and connecting rods These new parts lowered the weight of the engine by a massive 40 pounds. An incredible feat by Ferrari. At the same time, the engine in the F8 even releases fewer pollutants, and uses less fuel.

1 Ferrari Maintenance Program

A feature that's perhaps not as exciting as others but still interesting in its own right is Ferrari's maintenance program. It's proof that Ferrari stands behind its cars, providing a seven-year maintenance program across its entire range of cars.

The F8 and F8 Spider are no exception. The Genuine Maintenance program covers regular maintenance for the first seven years of the car’s life, this includes meticulous checks by staff trained at the Ferrari Training Centre in Maranello. Even cooler, the program is available worldwide.
