Ferrari has finally given into the Super SUV game but with a twist. The Purosangue is the Italian exotic maker's answer to the flourishing bunch of high-riding "supercars". But Ferrari doesn't want people to call the Purosangue an "SUV" but an "authentic four-door sports car". We will let you judge what to call the latest and boldest Ferrari.

But that doesn't change the fact that the Purosangue has some meaty competition. In fact, we now can call it to be a part of the holy trinity of Super SUVs which includes the Ferrari Purosangue, the Lamborghini Urus Performante, and the Aston Martin DBX707. We will be pitting the Ferrari against the Aston Martin DBX707 here. It is basically a beefed-up version of the standard DBX with more power and other performance and visual mods.

But deep down, it was Aston Martin getting ready to face Ferrari! And now, with the Purosangue unveiled, we compare these brutes for you. Both the SUVs are high on drama and there is a unique exotic appeal from both ends. But Ferrari has managed to edge out against the DBX707 with more power, more lux appeal, and a distinctive design language. But the DBX707 manages to hold its ground and put up an exciting fight against the boldest new Ferrari today.

Aston Martin knew of the future threat from Ferrari and came up with the DBX707. But the Purosangue still got the upper hand!

While it might not seem from the outside, but the new Ferrari SUV is a ferocious beast. It packs the famed 6.5-Liter naturally-aspirated V12 motor at the front. It churns out 715 hp and 528 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Ferrari Purosangue can do 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 193 mph.

The Aston Martin DBX707, on the other hand, is a bit shy on power with 697 hp but makes up for it with oodles of torque at 663 lb-ft. At the heart is a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-Liter V8 engine that sends power to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The DBX707 does 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 193 mph.

Suspension technology of the Ferrari Purosangue is enough to let the world know that Ferrari hasn't cut corners when it comes to driving pleasure. It gets electric-motor-assisted suspension dampers that take care of body roll and adapts as per the changing road conditions. Every other aspect comes together to justify Ferrari calling the Purosangue a "four-door sportscar".

The standard DBX is a dramatic British SUV. But the DBX707 takes things up another notch. Aston Martin gives it various performance and mechanical upgrades to dial up its brawny appeal. Just like the Ferrari, a lot of work has gone into making this brute of an SUV grin-worthy to drive. It gets adaptive damping and uses hydraulic bushings to eliminate understeer and body rolls. Both these super SUVs have serious drive appeal that defies their form factors.

Ferrari has gone above and beyond to elevate the Purosangue's interior. And this time it is not just above exotic appeal and plush materials, but also comfort and practicality. Ferrari's first-ever four-door car packs a cozy seating area for four.

The dashboard is also unique with a symmetrical layout that gives importance to both the driver and the front passenger. The passenger side gets a huge touchscreen infotainment display which is the haven for loads of entertainment and other technology features. The cargo space even gets a hidden storage compartment!

The Aston Martin DBX707, in true British sense, flaunts a luxurious interior layout. But the perks are confined to just the quality of materials here. The dashboard is cleaner as compared to the Ferrari. But the DBX707 lacks in terms of technology features.

Most of the technology bits are derived from Mercedes-Benz and the DBX707 flaunts an outdated interface for its infotainment unit that even lacks touch functionality. The second row comprises a bench layout and in no way can come close to the luxury and comfort offered in the Ferrari.

The Purosangue is one of the most gorgeous cars we have come across. Ferrari has done an impressive job to fuse a sportscar into an SUV form factor. Everything just glides into place and the Purosangue has a unique exotic appeal with aerodynamic curves and sharpness. While there are various design connections to other Ferraris like the FF and the GTC4Lusso, it has come together to form a completely unique poster car of the SUV world.

The DBX707 is on par with the Purosangue when it comes to the visual drama. Aston Martin has managed to balance out curves and ruggedness in its beastly SUV. There are distinctive Aston Martin design cues that blend in well with the SUV form factor. Some might feel that the front grille is way too big, but we think that it's well within the threshold.

The Aston Martin DBX707 is by far the closest threat to the Ferrari Purosangue. Despite packing a V8, the Aston Martin SUV still has the muscle to keep up with the V12 Ferrari SUV. Both SUVs are neck-on-neck when it comes to exterior visual appeal.

But it is with the interior that the Purosangue edges ahead of the DBX707. While the underrated Aston did put up a tough fight, it is the Ferrari that prevails triumphantly despite it being proposed to cost about double that of DBX707 which starts from $239,086.
