Ferrari is one of the most famous – if not the most famous – car manufacturers in the world. And over the years, they have produced some incredible cars. Now, they have launched another one. In Maranello today, Ferrari revealed the Portofino M, an evolution of the company's 2+ GT Spider, which is, of course, the Ferrari Portofino. It marks the first entirely online presentation of a new car, thanks to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking of the pandemic, the Portofino M is actually the first Ferrari to be presented in the wake of the company's temporary closure earlier in the year. This shutdown also saw the company's F1 team shut down for many weeks as well. For a company that makes a lot of great cars, the Portofino M has a lot to live up to. Ferrari says that there is “no shortage of technical innovation” when it comes to the Portofino M. It has a redesigned powertrain, a brand-new eight-speed gearbox, and a five-position Manettino, that features that all-important race mode, the first time one has featured on a GT Spider.

What powers the Portofino M? The car is powered by a 385cc V8 turbo, a 3.9-liter engine. It might be a far cry from the flat-12 engines but is still a very good engine. And power has been boosted from the standard Portofino’s same engine. The power has gone up from 582bhp to over 600 at 612bhp. Other stats are that the engine can punch out 620cv at 7500rpm, which is 20cv more than the standard Ferrari Portofino. And when it comes to pricing the car, it is pounds sterling, £188,000 which is roughly £24,000 more expensive than the previous model Portofino.

External Modifications

Externally, there are not a huge number of changes to the car, but it has been slightly redesigned to bring it more up to date so that it stands out from the base model. The changes to the car's looks have mostly been focussed on the front end. It features a brand new, sportier bumper design which, while not sounding like much, gives the car a new, sportier, and much more aggressive look to it.
