The world of automotive has long been trying to give us the fastest car they can ever since the mode of transportation was discovered. And this love for speed and excitement helped fuel the sales and success of numerous supercar brands, but there are two that stand out among all others.

Lamborghini has been after Ferrari's market share since before it was conceived. You see, the founder of Lamborghini was a tractor seller and a passionate mechanic, so when he found a few flaws in his '60s Ferrari and tried to advise Enzo Ferrari himself on how to fix them, Ferrari responded he didn't want any advice from a tractor mechanic. Since then, both companies have been competing for the title of the most advanced and desirable supercar producer in the world.

Today, both Ferrari and Lamborghini make spine-chillingly fast supercars aimed at the most ambitious sports car fanatics. And while the quality of both cars is beyond denying, the question of who actually, in the end, makes faster supercars is still a valid one.

Here, we compare the 5 fastest Lamborghini cars to the 5 most visceral Ferraris to find out which brand will glue you to your seat the most, based on their 0-60mph acceleration.

8 Ferrari F50 GT - 0-60 in 2.9 Seconds

via Wikipedia

The original Ferrari F50 was the model that inspired the making of the F50 GT. Although the F50 was satisfying enough when came to speed and performance, Ferrari thought they could do better. So in 1996, the company had a bit of help from Italian chassis manufacturer, Dallara, and Italian aircraft producer, ATR to make the car more competitive.

The GT ended up having a different rear wing and a notable air intake decorating the roof. It also had a sequential gearbox and carbon fiber discs. And although it does carry the same size engine as the one in the F50, the GT is definitely faster than its regular counterpart.

Instead of getting to work on an entirely new model, they took inspiration from the 458 Italia and decided to make their next showstopper from there. The end result was a mighty car with a V8 engine under the hood that could top at 205 miles per hour.
