Street Speed 717 YouTube channel is no noob when it comes to vehicles. He has had pretty much every American type of vehicle, from F-150s to insanely modified Dodge Vipers. In his latest video, however, his claim is a big one (pun intended). He claims that he bought the biggest, baddest, meanest, second-gen Dodge Ram on the planet. We're here to find out if the claims are true.

Always Have A Plan B

The Dodge Ram talks begin at the 4:10 mark in the video where our host, tells us that sometimes with YouTube and the Internet in general, it doesn't always work out. I'm sure everyone can relate to looking at photos of something online and when you show up the item is completely not as described. This can make for disappointing times. Especially if you were hoping to make a video about the product. Our host tells us, to heed his warning and always have a plan B. This video is a plan B as he was planning to do a video about the new Hummer EV, but it had a battery fault.

Cue The Heavy Metal Music For The Dodge Ram

At the 5:20 mark, we get to see the Ram in all its glory, accompanied by some quite fitting heavy metal music. The Dodge sits on the seller's trailer. The bottom of the truck reaches our presenter's head. He quickly jumps into the truck and takes it into the long grass nearby.

The truck is a 2001 Burgundy quad cab 2500. It sits on 51-inch military-grade tires, which house chrome Hummer mag wheels. He shows us the truck, and upon closer inspection, we notice that the front drive shaft is completely missing. He jokes that this is a Bluetooth driveshaft, but it is something that will need replacement if he wants to get any serious off-roading done.

Roughing The Raging Ram Off-Road

At the 8:31 mark, our host attempts to cross a gully. Comparing the tire size we can see the gully wall is about the same height as the tire which proves the truck can off-road downhill. Unfortunately, since he is missing the front driveshaft, getting up the other wall proves a bit more difficult. The rear tires spin in the sand, and he experiences his first time being stuck. He pulls the truck out by very sketchily attaching a tow-rope to his mags and pulling it sideways with his RAM TRX.

Now for the truth, though. Is it really the biggest second-gen Dodge Ram on Earth? Well, in short, no. There is the Steve Austin Monster truck, which is a second-gen Ram as well. Lifted Rams are a dime a dozen when you are on the trails. However, this is still one cool truck. Congrats on the purchase and we hope it serves you well!
