Ford revived the new Bronco with the clear intention of dethroning the Jeep Wrangler as America's best factory off-roading product. The marketing blitz surrounding the Bronco logically included the SUV tackling terrain like the Wrangler's eponymous Rubicon Trail, as well as other famous scenes like the treacherous Hell's Gate climb in Moab, Utah. But no matter how well-equipped either a Wrangler or a Bronco might come from the factory, the truth is that plenty of off-roaders then plan to go out and drop thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars in additional modifications to upgrade their rigs. The aftermarket community loves this mindset, though, and everyone eagerly awaits the release of new products for the Ford Bronco. And the latest drop comes courtesy of King Shocks, with the company's first set of 2.5-inch remote-reservoir adjustable ride height units for the 2021 Bronco now available for pre-order on the off-roading website Juggernaut Performance.

King's name in the off-roading community has been well established by now, so plenty of Bronco fans will no doubt look at this shock upgrade as essentially unavoidable. They'll probably be less happy about the price tags, though, with a full set of the adjustable shocks starting at a whopping $3,038.10 and the higher-spec setup that includes the "Wide Range Compression Adjuster" with 20 clicks of damping adjustment coming in at $3,655.60.

Bolt-On Modifications For Looks And Ride Quality

Juggernaut's website boasts the King shocks are bolt-on units, though the specifics of where exactly the remote reservoir bolts on to aren't mentioned other than in a series of relatively blurry wheel well photos. Regardless, the classic bright blue of King's products shines from beneath the Bronco fenders—and needs a coating of mud and grit to look truly at home.

That remote reservoir comes with heat-removing fins and a new system for mounting that doesn't employ hose clamps. Both the higher and lower-priced setups will fit the 35-inch tires that so many off-roaders want on their Broncos—but then the question begins to emerge of whether Bronco buyers will order a higher-spec Sasquatch with all the goodies or whether they'll opt for the lower factory sticker price and then do their own modifications themselves. And, of course, King isn't the only name in the upgrading world, so other options from the likes of Old Man Emu will certainly come into consideration.
