A Florida man crashed his Lamborghini into the back of a Ford pickup truck and then sped away in a nearby Mercedes.
Florida Man is a now legendary term for the insane hijinx that happen in everyone’s favorite sunshine panhandle. Normally those hijinx don’t involve $300,000 supercars, but when they do, they’re still just as entertaining.
In a surveillance video picked up but ABC 10 Local News, a Ford Super Duty pickup is parked waiting for a red light to change when a Lamborghini Huracan convertible slams right into the rear bumper at high speed. The driver of the pickup is uninjured and gets out to take a look at what just happened. That’s when the two occupants of the Lambo get out and make a break for it.
The incident occurred at 7:30 AM local time with the whole thing caught by a convenience store security camera. After exiting their Lambo, the driver and passenger book it to the sidewalk in order to stay out of arm's reach of the understandably pissed-off truck driver. Who is, by the way, tall, huge, and a local firefighter on his way to work, so he’s probably not someone you’d want to mess with.
After getting to the sidewalk, a black Mercedes S-Class rolls up, and then the two Lambo occupants hop in for their escape. The pickup driver is snapping pics with his cell phone the entire time, which will hopefully help apprehend the hit-and-run suspects.
Judging by the fact there was a trail car and that the Huracan was traveling way faster than it should have been, we’re thinking this is a rich kid stunt gone horribly wrong. That, or the Lambo was stolen and they were trying to get away from the scene as fast as possible.
Miami PD is asking witnesses for help in identifying the suspects. Any tips can be reported to Crime Stoppers in Miami.
Perhaps the best part of the story is the driver’s reaction while being interviewed by reporters. "Eh, it's Miami," he said.
