A Florida man is in custody after attempting to steal his repossessed Ford F-250 from the back of a tow truck.

We have YouTube channel ViralHog (by way of Autoblog) to thank for this delightful video of more hijinks from Florida Man, the legendary individual who continues to baffle the world with his astoundingly bad decisions. If it’s not trying to huff methamphetamines from the snout of an alligator, it's trying to rob a liquor store naked with a BB gun.

This time our Florida Man has a real name of Yohanys Lopez, who unfortunately fell too far behind on his payments for his Ford F-250 Super Duty. His truck was literally in the process of being repossessed by a tow crew when he ran up and demanded access to the F-250 in order to retrieve some personal items.

Turns out the “personal item” he wanted to retrieve was his old truck. As soon as he got inside, he turned on the engine and tried to muscle his way out of the situation with a 6.7-L Power Stroke turbodiesel.

As soon as they realized what was happening, the tow crew wisely abandoned ship and called the cops. You can tell that there’s really nobody behind the wheel of the tow truck, itself a Ford F-450 which also happens to be powered by a 6.7-L Power Stroke.

Had the F-450 been manned, it likely would have eventually lost the tug of war as it appears to be a third generation model, which is about 40 hp short on the current-gen Super Duty.

Both trucks are also four-wheel-drive, which is why the F-250 was able to find any purchase at all with its front wheels. It eventually manages to get off the tow rack and even muscle its way to the ground, but it still can’t escape the safety chains that are wrapped around it.

It’s a bit like watching a monster truck tug-of-war, only one of the trucks is trying way too hard while the other is just sort of standing there.

Police arrived shortly after this scene to arrest the guy, who was charged with criminal mischief and grand theft auto.
