The history of this car is simple, the Chevy El Camino was the official pace car during the 1984 and 1985 International Race of Champions (IROC) racing seasons; to create even more buzz, GM offered the 1983-1987 Chevy El Camino in a limited-edition model.

Jointly developed by Chevrolet and Choo Choo Customs, the Chevrolet El Camino IROC-S was a custom example that sported a distinctive track-bred appearance package.

What people don’t know is that they are extremely rare and just about 15 of them were ever built, each one of them was unique and exclusively numbered by this Tennessee-based tuner for Chevrolet.

This is #5 of the 15 cars and Robin Yount bought it in 2011 and is the current owner.

It comes in white with blue and red graphics, over a lovely maroon interior and a white truck bed.

It’s powered by a replacement 350 cu in V8, running on a three-speed automatic transmission.

Offered in Hopkins, Minnesota with factory literature, this car has a spare set of wheels, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.

Plus, you also get a signed baseball from Robin Yount.

The bid is on for another six days and for now, the current one is only $7,500 which is peanuts for a car that’s not just a classic, but rare, in awesome condition, and also belongs to a celebrity.

Further features of the car include a driver-side spotlight, chrome bed rails, roof-mounted amber warning lights, and adorable Chevrolet bow tie-shaped exhaust outlets.

It rides on Center Line 14” wheels, a CB radio, and also boasts power windows and a Delco cassette radio along with much-needed air-conditioning.

You get maroon cloth upholstery with vinyl sides along with matching door panels and carpeting on the inside, along with faux wood trim, a plaque on the dashboard identifies this vehicle as IROC-S #005 by Choo Choo Customs, Inc.

As one fan noted, “There’s not one sticker on that vehicle. The whole Pace Car scheme's painted!! It’s a unique piece of racing history!”
