Ford is offering up to $12,000 in discounts on certain 2019 F-150 models, but only in certain areas and only for today.

The news comes from Ford Authority, which is a publication that keeps its eye on Ford like a hawk eyes salmon in a riverbed. Or an eagle. Or some other fish-eating bird. Whatever, the metaphor has become strained. In any case, they’re paying attention, and that means you get to benefit from their eagle-like eyes.

Depending on where you live, you may be in store for a huge cash discount on a new 2019 Ford F-150 pickup. The offer isn’t available everywhere, and it depends where you live for how much of a cash incentive you might qualify.

In New York City and the surrounding area, that discount can be up to $12,000 on a 2019 F-150 XLT trim with the 2.7-L EcoBoost V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the Luxury, Power, and Navigation packages. That’s a truck that would normally sell for well over $40,000, and now it’s just a touch under $30k.

In Miami, you can get the same truck with a discount of $11,500. Los Angeles can get a new F-150 XLT trim with a $7,000 discount, while Detroit gets one for $6,250 off.

Notably, the offer expires on November 13th for New York and Detroit, while Los Angeles and Miami will retain their offerings until January 2nd, 2020. Also, this is only for the 2019 models. The new 2020 F-150s get a different, smaller discount of up to $5,500, but it's not available everywhere. New York and Los Angeles get it, but Detroit does not.

A first-ever offering from Ford, the off-road leveling kits bring FOX??? shocks, exclusive Ford Performance tuning, 2-inch front lift, new front coilovers, vehicle-specific upper front mounts and locking spring pre-load rings

You can really tell where Ford’s market presence is strongest based on these cash discounts. Michigan is far more likely to sell pickups, so they get the least discounts on the 2019 models, and the 2020 models are still full price.

After November 13th, you’ll have to check with dealers in New York and Detroit to see if there are any new deals on last year’s F-150s.
