There is no question that Ford and the many car manufacturers that come from General Motors have released some of the greatest vehicles to have ever been created. We definitely deserve to hand them an abundance of praise because of this absolutely apparent fact. However, even though these companies have had a plethora of overall success over the years, it is important to note that some of their models were not so fortunate. In fact, many of the vehicles that these car manufacturers released are even forgotten by many individuals of the automobile world. This is largely due to the fact that they simply could not keep up with the immense amount of competition that they had faced each and every year.

With all that has been stated thus far, we will be looking at ten cars from both Ford and GM brands that have been forgotten. It is definitely surprising to see these situations occur because of the fact that these models were expected to be top notch ones when they were first released to the public. However, it is essential to recognize that this is not always going to be the case and history has shown this on numerous occasions. At the end of the day, we should not assume that all of these models were bad and that is why they did not succeed. Although some were definitely lemons, others simply were overshadowed.

Nonetheless, let’s look at the ten Ford and GM brand cars that are now forgotten!

20 Ford Fairmont

The Ford Fairmont series would never get much attention from the automobile world during its time on the primary market. This is largely because of the fact that it simply was overshadowed by the vast amount of other models that had come from Ford and it led to it having a short life cycle.

The Ford Fairmont series did not produce bad vehicles for the automobile world, but they simply were not able to leave an impact.

Due to this absolutely clear fact, it is now quite apparent that these models are officially forgotten by mostly everyone at this point in time.

19 Cadillac Mirage Pickup

The Cadillac Mirage is a model that no one would likely remember because it was only released for one year and it was just a useless pickup. In fact, it is widely considered to be the worst pickup to ever come from any GM brand and with that being stated, it would end very quickly. There is absolutely no question that this model is now essentially forgotten entirely and it will forever be a dark chapter in the history of the Cadillac car company. With it only lasting one year, there is no question that these pickups are now mostly seen solely at junkyards.

This is a model that definitely looked pretty cool, but truly was not a very dependable pickup.

15 GMC Envoy

via motortrend.ca

The GMC Envoy was an SUV that tried to make an abundance of sales by using the “family car” gimmick. Although they did release some very safe models in this series, they simply were not able to keep up with the rest of the competition and would see it come to an end in 2009.

Not many people were aware of these vehicles when they were in the primary market, so it is not surprising that they are now entirely forgotten.

There is no question that GMC could have focused more time on advertising these models, but failed to do so.

via motor1.com

The Ford Probe definitely was a very cool looking car, but they simply did not sell well during their time on the primary market. via cardomain.com

The Chevy Monza series is one that simply has been forgotten because of all the time that has passed since its release. This series ended in 1981 after only being on the primary market for less than a decade, so it is pretty clear that it did not leave any impact whatsoever. This is a series of models that Chevy simply did not do too good of a job with. The 1970s and 1980s were a great time for the car manufacturer that saw them create some pretty magnificent models, but that was not the case with the Chevy Monza.

12 Ford Falcon

via fastlanecars.com

The Ford Falcon series is one that never seemed to leave any impact and that is why it only lasted about ten years on the primary market.

There is no question that this was a secondary model from Ford so these vehicles were prone to having a lot of major issues.

It truly is sad because these models definitely had an abundance of potential when they first were released, but they simply were never built to last. Due to this clear fact, these are classic models that no one is interested in and many may even have forgotten about them at this point.

via autoevolution.com

There is absolutely no question that Cadillac is a fantastic car manufacturer and they have released some spectacular models over the years. However, when it comes to the Cadillac Allante series, these were some of the worst cars that ever came from them by a longshot. The Cadillac Allante series was so bad that it ended only a few years after its start. There is no question that these vehicles were unable to leave a positive impact on the automobile world, so as a result of this, they are now forgotten and/or actively ignored.

10 Ford Maverick

via topspeed.com

The Ford Maverick series was actually a fairly solid one by the car manufacturer, but it simply was overshadowed by the far more popular models from them. However, these vehicles were extremely reliable and had an immense amount of durability that made them built to last. via pinterest.com

The GMC Syclone is one of the fastest pickup trucks to ever hit the primary market, but it ended up only being in production for a year. Due to this fact, many people of the automobile world would never actually know about how unique and fantastic this speed demon was.

When seeing how this vehicle had a lot of speed to go with an immense amount of power, it truly was the entire package.

However, it never was able to receive the respect that it deserved and now it is often forgotten by many people. In fact, with it only having one release, many people may have never heard of it from the start.

8 Ford Courier

via bestcarmag.com

The Courier series was simply never able to make any impact on the automobile world because they were entirely overshadowed by the Ford F-150 series. There is absolutely no question that a large number of individuals have forgotten about these pickups.

7 Chevy Citation

via wikipedia.org

The Chevy Citation was another series from the car manufacturer that was absolutely underwhelming and that is evidenced by the fact that it would only last five years on the primary market. There were far too many major issues when it came to its overall structure sadly. Due to the fact that these vehicles only lasted until 1985 and were truly bland, it is quite understandable as to why so many individuals have completely forgotten about the series at this present time. Regardless of this fact, it easily still can be deemed as one of the biggest lemons ever from them.

6 Ford EXP

The Ford EXP, not to be confused with the Ford Explorer, were a series of sports compact cars that would be in production from 1982 to 1988. With that being stated, it is quite apparent that these models were unable to attract much of a crowd by how short lived they ended up being.

via flickr.com

The Ford Tempo series lasted from 1984 to 1994, but were never able to do that well when it came to its sales. This is largely because of the fact that these models did not offer anything in terms of uniqueness and this essentially made them overlooked by many individuals. via thestreetpeep.com

The Chevy Sprint series could go down as one of the most forgettable ones to have ever been released to the automobile world. A massive reason behind this clear fact is that these models were completely overshadowed by the far more popular models that came from the car manufacturer.

There is absolutely no question that the Sprint series will forever be one that is forgotten by a majority of individuals, but that does not mean that they were bad cars.

In fact, for a car from the 80s, they were actually fair fuel efficient and were solid when it came to their overall structures as well.

2 Ford Contour

When the Ford Contour was first released to the automobile world, it actually had a very high amount of popularity. Many individuals were intrigued by the way that it ran and how many safety features it possessed. However, it would drop in sales immensely over the next few years. A very big reason for the sudden change in popularity was the simple fact that it was far too expensive for a smaller car. Today, these models are now entirely forgotten about it seems and this is truly a shame because they were actually fairly solid vehicles during the 1990s and 2000s.

1 Chevy Corsica

via bestcarmag.com

It is fair to state that there are not many individuals who remember the Chevy Corsica series. This is largely because of the fact that they were good enough to leave a lasting legacy, yet at the same time, not bad enough to receive much criticism. They simply were stuck in the middle. Time has not done well for these models and they now can probably be deemed as the most forgotten model to ever come from the car manufacturer. This series simply did not last long enough in the primary market as well, so at the end of the day, it truly had no chance.
