As the Ram 1500 TRX seemed to eat the F-150 Raptor alive whenever they meet, Ford just has to offer a mightier version of its dinosaur truck. Ford is set to give birth to the F-150 Raptor R as its next big thing with nothing less than its CEO Jim Farley confirming that it will have a supercharged V8 engine under its hood.

It’s A Supercharged V8 After All

Farley posted a video on his Twitter account showing the F-150 Raptor R managing through the desert with great dynamism and poise. The F-150 Raptor R is essentially showing off its off-road prowess while letting the viewers hear the roaring sound coming from its supercharged V8 engine. It might be the last of Ford’s V8 trucks, so let’s enjoy it while it lasts.

There are still no details from Ford about which V8 engine is residing under the hood of the F-150 Raptor R. Nevertheless, this TRX fighter could borrow the Predator, a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 motor lurking in the Mustang.

Ford could tune this mill to suit the Raptor R while offering a power level enough to take down the Ram TRX. To note, the TRX’s supercharged V8 delivers 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
