Recently, Ford also lifted the lid on at the Chicago Auto Show on another custom option for the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse: a carbon fiber wheel option that really makes a statement – and much more besides.

Let’s take a look at the details to see if the 2024 Ford Mustang upgrade is worth the considerable costs and most importantly how they look.

The wheels make the chiseled new muscle car look even more special and are quite thick in their design – thanks to YouTube channel StangMode we also get some extra information directly from Ford themselves in a short clip.

It explains that the wheels are lighter – overall 37% lighter and with a saving of 21 pounds over the aluminum rims – that will enable faster acceleration and slightly-higher fuel economy due to the reduction in the car’s unsprung rotational mass.

With a price tag of more than $8,000, the carbon fiber rims are a significant option but offer a bold new look, plus the reduction in weight and potential benefits on the track.

As StangMode reminds us, the new Dark Horse will be a great new model in the lineup either way, with a great range of customization options, the manual transmission option, the V8 engine and now the possibility to stand out with carbon fiber wheels.

The 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse makes 500 hp from its 5-liter Coyote V8 and will likely be the last internal combustion-engined Mustang without some kind of hybrid system or purely electric powertrain.
