The famous Ford F-Series is most popular for its F-150 model, so much so that some people forget about the Ford F100s. The Ford F-100 was born before the F-150 and not long after the F-Series lineup began.

The Ford F-100 model was the F-Series' second generation truck, which was in production from 1953 to 1985. The entry-level F-series pickup was the half ton in weight. These models were heavy and had bigger dimensions. Yet, they were kit out with bigger engines and a better chassis too. All of which, made the F-100 truck a great role model for the future of the F-Series.

Aside from its bigger and better specs, let's take a look at the best feature of the Ford F-100.

The Ford F-100 was a truck that never saw a lack of love and desire. It was kit out with a flathead 4.7-liter V8 engine, which many new owners end up changing. Yet, for the time, this engine was unique and rarely seen in other manufacturers' trucks.

This engine could offer reliability and power. It could churn out up to 160-hp and in comparison to its rival, the Dodge Ram, this was much higher. The early years of the Dodge Ram saw a similar engine, not quite so big, which could offer around 140-hp.

What's more, is that the Ford F-100 saw quite a big design upgrade from the original 1948 F-Series model. Although it features the same radiator support, inner fenders, and hoods, its cab was kit out with new doors, a new dashboard, and an optional panoramic rear window. In line with Ford cars, the 1956 F-Series model took to offering seat belts as an option.

Although the Ford F-100 offers a lot in terms of specs and reliability, its best feature has to be its interior design. The ergonomics of the F-100 set the path for the future of the F-Series, as Ford had customers in mind. The cab was spacious, the seating positions were just right, and the comfort levels were remarkable.

Seeing as the main purpose of the F-100 was for towing large and heavy hauls, the designers made sure to make the ride as comfortable as possible, no matter what it was carrying.

Inside, customers would find large seats, as well as sun visors and arm rests, which all took to enhancing the comfort and convenience of the ride. Therefore, its ergonomics and interior design was faultless and the best feature of the F-100 by a long shot.

Overall, the Ford F-100 was an incredibly classic truck, which is never to be forgotten. It made the way for the future of the F-Series from its performance to its interior design. All-around, it was a pretty faultless truck and would certainly satisfy the likes of any customer needing help with their heavy hauls.
