Watch A Ford GT Try To Race A Hennessey Jeep Trackhawk On The Drag Strip

Recently, Hennessey put its Jeep Trackhawk against a Ford GT on the drag strip, and despite being heavier and less aerodynamic, the Jeep stood tall.

Whenever the name Hennessey Performance is mentioned, everybody knows what exactly is going to follow in the conversation — insanely powerful performance cars. Hennessey Performance takes cars that are already at their best and makes them better with a few touch-ups here and there. They focused on a wide range of vehicles from muscle cars, supercars, SUVs, and even trucks. If you are looking for a beast, they have it. Their collection includes the Venom GT and F5, 2016 Ford Mustang GT, and Shelby Gt350 and the mighty Raptor to name but a few.

Don't believe us? Well, Hennessey Performance posted a video YouTube showing the ultimate drag race between the 2018 Ford GT and the Jeep Trackhawk — two cars that are worlds apart. The battle between an SUV and a sports car is not something that we don't see often as many people only do sportscar verses sports car and SUV versus SUV.

Many would assume that because the Jeep Trackhawk looks bigger and heavier, it will most definitely lose this race, but never judge a book by its cover. In the video, the Jeep takes the lead with the Ford GT struggling to keep up. The aerodynamics and sporty look of the Ford GT didn't seem to help it when it came to facing an opponent twice its size.

With the Jeep packing an upgraded 1,012 bhp at 6500 rpm, the Ford GT's 647 hp at 6250 rpm was just not enough to rattle the Trackhawk.

Both cars are beautiful and good for their classes. So if you're forced to choose between the two, why not go for both if you can afford to? The Jeep Trackhawk for family days and the Ford GT for alone time. That being said, the upgrades made on the Jeep Trackhawk make it among the fastest SUVs just when you thought that they could not get any better.

The power from the Jeep Trackhawk is nothing short of impressive and the Ford GT didn't do such a bad job itself. But in a drag race, only a few seconds makes the difference between a winner and the looser.
