The 2019 Ford Ranger went live yesterday due to a glitch and revealed a pretty good base price.

We’ve been patiently awaiting the new Ford Ranger’s arrival for all of this year after Ford announced they’d be bringing back their first mid-size pickup in almost half a decade. That wait is almost over, but we got a brief taste of what the Ranger will come with in terms of pricing yesterday when Ford accidentally flipped the switch to the pickup’s configurator.

The link has since been taken down and Ford issued a statement (by way of Jalopnik) asking us all to not look at the man behind the curtain.

“This was a mistake and is being pulled down,” a Ford spokesperson said. “There will not be a regular cab Ranger and pricing shown is inaccurate. Build and Price will officially go live next week.”

So what info we have is likely wrong and is subject to change when the configurator does go live, but there’s likely still some nuggets of truth to be found in what was published on Tuesday.

Thanks to the fine folks over at Off-Road.com and their quick mouse fingers, we’ve got a fantastic list of all trims and options (with the proviso that all are still subject to change).

There will be three trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat. No ultra-plush Premium was mentioned and the Raptor was likewise notably absent. There were also several cab choices, including regular cab, SuperCab, extended cab, and SuperCrew four-door. As previously mentioned by Ford’s damage control team, the regular cab won’t be publically available, but it might be available for fleet purchasers.

Also notable was the price for the XL regular cab, which was a mere $24,000. Since we regular folks can’t get a regular cab, we’d have to opt for the XL SuperCab, which bumps the price up to $24,300. That’s a very reasonable price for a very new and exciting truck.

Unfortunately, that comes with barely little more than a radio, air conditioning, and an engine. If you want four-wheel-drive that’s an immediate $4,000 price jump. FX4 off-road package, premium audio, and Ford CoPilot360 driver assistance packages all bring the price well into the $30k range.

But hey, this is still the most exciting mid-size pickup in years, and everything we learned is still subject to change. Let’s wait until next week before we go jumping to any conclusions.
