Ford is teasing its upcoming electric crossover, and now we have a date: November 17, 2019.

They've been teasing it for a while, but we finally know when Ford will give us some answers on the long-rumored electric crossover. That's the one that has been said to be called the Mach E, although Ford has yet to actually provide a name for their Mustang-inspired EV.

Recently, Ford told us about their plans for electrification. They'll be making an enormous nation-wide electric charging network for their new fleet of EVs, which although not quite leading the charge, is still welcome news from the automaker.

Then we received our first teaser videos of what appeared to be the Mach E test mule running through the snow at the Smithers Winter Fest facility. This was part of a new Ford marketing blitz to correct public perception of what an electric car can do, such as keep driving despite cold temperatures.

Ford's latest teaser doesn't provide us with much other than a 22-second video with a few blue lines to denote the Mach E. They also set up the new Ford Electric Landing Zone website for their upcoming EVs, starting with the Mach E, but that site doesn't have much info.

Previously, Ford has said their electric crossover will have dual motors, AWD, be "performance-oriented," and come with a maximum range of 370 miles. That could very well be the case, but we'll have to wait for November 17th to find out.

On the plus side, we have a pretty good idea of what the new car will look like right now thanks to AllCarNews. Someone managed to leak what appears to be CAD Drawings to the publication that show the Mach E without all the camouflage.

What we see has all the hallmarks of an electric vehicle, which is mostly the enclosed grille. The headlights and taillights look very much like a Mustang, as does the overall shape of the nose, but the rest of the car has more in common with a Model X than a Mustang, which is likely by design. Ford is playing catch-up with Tesla, after all.

We’ll get more details later in November.
