The Camping World NASCAR Truck Series is, as you would have guessed, a Series for NASCAR trucks and like the main NASCAR Cup Series with trucks from Toyota, Chevrolet, and Ford. The Cup Series is going into a new generation of cars for 2022 and the NASCAR Truck Series is seeing changes as well, and Ford has now unveiled their new truck for the 2022 NASCAR Truck Series championship — it is radically different from the current iteration of the NASCAR truck. The new Ford is set to hit the track in anger at Daytona in February, which is of course the traditional starting point for the NASCAR season.

Ford Performance Showcase The New Truck

Ford Performance has uploaded a video onto their YouTube channel featuring NASCAR truck driver and Ford driver Hailie Deegan driving not just the new NASCAR truck, but the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning as well. She uses it to tow the truck to the Flat Rock Speedway in Carleton, Michigan, from the Ford Motor Company Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Deegan puts the new truck through its paces during a few laps of the Flat Rock circuit, before using the electrical power of the Lightning to illuminate the new truck in all its glory.

You would be very much forgiven if you thought that the current generation of NASCAR trucks doesn’t exactly look modern, or that nice in general. Particularly from the front, they look quite drab and it is somewhat difficult from more of a distance to be able to tell each truck from the other. The new F-150 is very much, a more aggressive-looking machine with a front grille more akin to the road-going F-150 and a much slender-looking body overall.
