It's fair to say that the hype surrounding the Ford Bronco this year has been nothing short of extraordinary. The return of the classic has been met with nothing short of huge excitement, and it is soon set to be available to us all. Ford is not standing still, however, and they want to capitalize on all of this excitement to make the Bronco’s return as successful as possible. And it looks like we may well get a special edition, with Ford unveiling the Bronco + Filson Wildland Fire Rig concept.

A Natural Fit

Ford has partnered with Filson, the rugged outdoor fitter, to create this rather awesome concept. The aim is for the two companies to collaborate in order to raise funds in support of the National Forest Foundation’s reforestation programs and to promote fire prevention awareness through the limited-edition Bronco + Filson.

Doug Thielen, director of marketing at Filson, said, “The Filson and Bronco collaboration was a natural fit, given the deep histories both brands have with the U.S. Forest Service dating back to the midcentury when crews relied on the Filson Cruiser jackets and first-generation Broncos to reach remote terrain and protect them in harsh conditions.”

Tribute To Both Classic Broncos And U.S. Forest Service

The vehicle is decked out in an awesome Forest Service Green paint scheme that is very similar to the first-generation US Forest Service Bronco. And, like this classic Bronco, it certainly looks adventure-ready! The concept also includes a full fire skid with a water tank in the back and there are interior design elements that are made from some of Filson’s classic fabrics accessories.

The car also features firefighting equipment and rugged materials that are crafted by Filson, paying tribute to previous generations of first responder Broncos and the first responders themselves.

A Cool New Concept

In an Instagram post, Ford teased a cool new concept with a nice render showcasing what may be yet to come - unless, that is, the limited-edition Bronco + Filson is the one. While it looks like the Bronco + Filson could very well be the Bronco concept that was teased, perhaps Ford has even more in store for rabid Bronco fans.
