Since Fast N' Loud left the Discovery Channel, the workshop has moved all their content online. Without a hitch, the team restores and upgrades these classic cars for sale. Rawlings may look to make money by positioning Gas Monkey Garage as a lifestyle and entertainment brand. But without the workshop's projects, none of that exists.

Featuring on The Gas Monkey Garage & Richard Rawlings YouTube channel, an episode of "Truck It Friday" gives insight into the team's work and how they finish their week. Rawlings makes the point that under the Discover Channel's stewardship they had less freedom with the studio's extra polish and editing. Recent projects include a Lamborghini for Daytona and a '68 Ford LTD. This includes bidding on classic cars for content, buying new stock, and even getting rid of cars that just won't sell.

Gas Monkey Garage show how much fun working there is by highlighting a typical day in the business.

What's Richard Rawlings Bidding On?

Richard Rawlings is no stranger to expensive cars. With a Ferrari 599 GTB, heavily modified Challengers, and classic Mustangs, the cost of his acquisitions add up incredibly fast. The gearhead's latest acquisition is no different. Classic Ferrari road cars rarely come cheap and those from the 1960s are the most desirable both in Europe and the United States. Bidding on a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE the owner of Gas Monkey Garage looks more stressed than usual. With less than two minutes to go the car sat at $176,000. This doesn't break any records for a classic Ferrari. After all the 250 GTO usually sells for more than $50 million. According to Bring a Trailer, more common Ferraris of this vintage such as the 330 can sell for as much as $419,000. Other users of Bring a Trailer drove up the price for this particular car to near $200,000. Rawlings walks away from this auction kicking himself that he didn't bid $196,000. Instead, another user won the car for $195,000.

The 250 GTE is already an incredibly special car. In production for twelve years production numbers remained low. However, not quite as low as the legendary 250 GTO. Allegedly fewer than 1,000 examples left Ferrari's headquarters at Maranello. Beneath the hood sits a 3.0-liter V12 engine with around 250 horsepower. But the car up for auction is a little different. A previous owner adjusted the front fascia to resemble a track car with more aerodynamic headlights, just like its rarer 250 GTO sibling.

The most noteworthy modification is the engine swap, to a 350 small block Chevy engine. At first, this might seem like a downgrade from the luxurious Italian V12 motor. However, the 350, which in modern terms has a 5.7-liter displacement and from the factory sees power figures as high as 400 horsepower. Rawlings claims that this car might be the most "desirable driving" 250 GTE. With more power, it will speed along. However, Ferrari purists will surely take offense that anybody dared change Enzo's vision.

Rawling's collection so far includes mostly American vehicles from the same vintage. His green 1968 convertible Shelby Mustang makes the perfect stablemate to this 250 GTE. Both cars are the pinnacle of automotive engineering on different sides of the Atlantic. The battle between these two manufacturers came to a head in the 1966 Le Mans race where the original Ford GT took the victory. Rawlings doesn't own one of these classic Le Mans racers, but putting bids on near $200,000 cars means that he'll surely land one of these.

What New Trucks Has Rawlings Bought?

Just like usual Gas Monkey Garage is an incredibly hectic workplace. Not only are his team working on a range of hot-rods and cars for clients, but they have constant distractions from the eccentric Richard Rawlings. Most wouldn't recognize this Friday at Gas Monkey Garage as a workplace. One of the workshop's latest business ventures has stepped into larger vehicles. The workshop's main business is the sale of vehicles, be that a modified Chevy old body style pick-up or much larger vehicles like yellow school buses. The latest item in their inventory is two Ford F8000 Fire Trucks.

The Ford 8000 series of Fire Trucks is the iconic response vehicle. Peterbilt may have the 337. But with a long hood like a semi it isn't nearly as recognizable as the squared-off shape of this truck. The cab over engine does also has certain design benefits, including a shorter cabin. In urban settings, this increases mobility.

Rawlings reminisces about his time training on these old firetrucks back in the 1980s. With a long wheelbase, much longer than Ford's Super Duty lineup of trucks, the F8000 saw a wide range of uses including a tanker and flatbed. These two firetrucks are from Paradise Point in Oklahoma, over 200 miles away from Rawling's base of operations. Usually, when the Gas Monkey crew acquire a new vehicle they celebrate with burnouts and donuts. A true test of what a car can do in a car park. But these fire trucks of one more trick up their sleeve, water cannons. The only sane thing to do is to soak the team's vehicles in the adjacent car park.

How Does Rawlings Finish His Week?

Chevy Monster Truck

In typical Rawlings fashion, the host closes this business week by donning a crash helmet and stepping into the driver's seat of a Chevy Monster Truck. Two rusted shells of old Opel GT Coupes just weren't moving. Taking up space that more desirable stock could reside in. Before sending the two rust buckets to the scrapyard the obvious choice is to crush them a little more. Riding over them, wasn't as easy as Rawlings expected, the cars put up a small fight and even managed to damage the Chevy Monster.
