The McLaren Sabre has, in some ways, been something of an enigma. Only 15 are set to be made by McLaren’s Special Operations (MSO) and—bar a few spy shots here and there—we’ve been able to gain very little information about the car itself. That is, until now. Mr. JWW has uploaded this video on his YouTube channel giving us a full look at the 824-hp monster revealing plenty more details about what just might be one of the most insane supercars that McLaren has ever produced.

Basic Sabre Stats

Let's get some of the basic stats that we now know out of the way. As mentioned above, it has 824 hp and produces 590 lb-ft of torque. This makes it the fastest two-seater supercar that McLaren has ever produced, its top speed being 218 mph and having a 0-100 of 5.5 seconds. Yes, you read that right—it takes just 5.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 mph. That is an utterly insane level of performance. Insane is putting it mildly as well! The Sabre is commissioned by the owners, to be built to their needs and wants. And we have also been lucky enough to see one unleashed on the roads.

This particular Sabre was commissioned as a show car for the road. It's one that had an enormous presence, but also looked stunningly beautiful when parked on display. This Sabre has the famous McLaren Papaya finish, with blue trim and plenty of carbon fiber parts. It very much has the McLaren Formula 1 livery, in the sense of the Papaya and blue, all over it. This car is also only available in North America, making it even more exclusive.

The Finer And Bespoke Details

Some finer details of this particular Sabre then, and things that are just bespoke to the Sabre in general. The wing mirror itself is an epic looking design, as there's nothing plain about it at all. Neil Underwood, the global sales manager of MSO, explains that the paint scheme does relate to the MCL35, which is the 2020 McLaren F1 car, as the customer of it is a huge fan of Formula 1.

The Papaya itself is a special blend of it, bespoke to what the customer wanted as well as the Vega Blue. The carbon features interwoven graphics for the car numbers, which some customers have chosen. The back is pure bonkers, with the car featuring a central spine inspired by LMP cars from Le Mans. Neil explains that this whole car is about creating pure drama, and it certainly does that.
