If you have been paying attention to the worl of hypercars, you’ll probably know that Scuderia Glickenhaus, run by James Glickenhaus, is preparing its 007 Hypercar for competition in this year's World Endurance Championship. Now, Glickenhaus has revealed through his Facebook page that he and the company are aiming to build 24 road-going versions of the Le Mans hypercars and create potentially the ultimate homologation special. This is to be a fully US road-legal car, called the 007, and it could become one of the most powerful road cars in the world.

Bold Claims Mention A Crazy Horsepower Figure

There are some pretty bold claims from Glickenhaus when it comes to this potential hypercar. Glickenhaus says he expects the car to produce 1,400 hp. That is right up there with the very best of the current crop of hypercars. The 007S is projected to weigh just 2,800 lbs, which makes this a pretty lightweight machine. Plus, vital for summer days and traffic jams, is a working AC that Glickenhaus says will work perfectly in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Long Island Expressway on a 100-degree day.

Perhaps the biggest claim, though, is the project time this car could lap the Nurburgring. It would be a surprise if this car never made it to that track, as it has become the ultimate proving ground for car manufacturers, big and small. And Glickenhaus is projecting that this car could lap the Nurburgring—on-road tires, not slick race tires—in under six minutes! That is an incredibly bold claim, especially as this car will need to be quite detuned from the race version. But even so, it would be awesome to see it possible.

Three-Seater Could Lead To Central Driving Position

Glickenhaus also tells us that it is set to be a three-seater car, which is quite an unusual arrangement. That does potentially lead to it being similar to the McLaren F1 and Speedtail, with a central driving position and then the passenger seats on either side of the driver. Either way, this is an incredibly exciting prospect if it does happen, and it could pave the way for the 007S to become the most exciting homologation special in recent memory, if not ever.
