There is no question that GM cars over the years have been absolutely fantastic and that is largely because of the fact that they own some of the best car manufacturers in the entire automobile world. Due to GM, we have been able to drive some of the best cars to have ever been created, so they definitely deserve a plethora of respect from us. However, even with this being the case, it is important to remember that they have also released some absolutely horrible vehicles as well. In fact, some have been so abysmal that they can even be considered some of the worsts to have ever been created of all-time.

With all that has been stated thus far, in this article, we will be looking at ten GM from both the 1980s and 1990s that absolutely make no sense to this day. There is no question that each vehicle on this list did an awful job and ended up being despised by the majority of the individuals of the automobile world. At the end of the day, this makes a lot of sense because a lot of these vehicles came with some pretty massive problems that would essentially ruin them from becoming solid ones. There is no question that GM is a corporation that deserves a lot of respect for greenlighting some of the best vehicles of all-time. However, even with this being the case, they still deserve a lot of criticism for their awful ones as well.

Nonetheless, let’s look at the ten GM vehicles from the both 1980s and 1990s that make no sense!

19 1980 Buick Skylark

The 1980 Buick Skylark is one of the most underwhelming vehicles of all-time because after once having so much hype, it turned out to fail on all of its promises. This looked like such a cool vehicle, but at the end of the day, it simply was far too unreliable and it failed miserably.

It is hard to determine what GM was trying to do when they gave Buick the green light to create this vehicle, but it is clear that it was a complete and utter mistake.

The Skylark definitely could have been something special, but at the end of the day, the manufacturer simply failed horribly.

18 1981 Chevy Citation

The 1981 Chevy Citation turned out to be a truly abysmal model and the main reason for that is that it had a lot of issues when it came to its engine. Due to the fact that this sadly was the case, these vehicles would end up breaking down extremely quickly and had a short life cycle. The car manufacturer definitely regrets releasing this model. It is weird to try to determine what exactly they were going for with this one. It was supposed to be a family car, but due to how unsafe it was, it obviously was unable to actually become this.

At the end of the day, this model turned out to be a complete and utter disappointment and now is one of the worst models to ever come from GM. With all of this being said, it is quite easy to understand why so many people were extremely disappointed with it at the end of the day.

There is no question that this model could have been a lot better and GM should be criticized for allowing its release.

The car manufacturer had been known for creating very safe and reliable vehicles, but this was the complete opposite. This vehicle is definitely primarily known for the fact that it had one of the weakest engines in the history of the automobile world. Although it was very slow, it also was likely to need an abundance of repairs because the engine would essentially break down on its own.

The 1990 Oldsmobile Silhouette really should have been a far better car than it actually was, but you can blame that on the fact that it clearly was rushed during its development. At the end of the day, this could actually be deemed as the worst vehicle to ever come from the company. When seeing how this vehicle provided absolutely no safety as being deemed as a family car, it is easy to understand why it was a commercial failure from the very start. This car simply was prone to breaking down far too quickly because of its faulty transmission and electrical problems.

This vehicle was so bad that people avoided Daewoo cars for quite some time.
