In the form of a 16-second clip, Lincoln officially teased the debut of its upcoming fully electric concept car.

An SUV In A Cloak

The only thing Lincoln confirmed in their press release was when Lincoln will take the wraps off this new concept – that day being April 20, 2022. However, that doesn't mean the 16-seconds of glory doesn't tell us anything else.

Lincoln appears to be taking notes from the Mercedes camp because the concept sports a bunch of illuminated Lincoln logos. In the midst of illuminated logos, it seems quite obvious that the concept will debut as a 2022 electric SUV. And more than likely, it will be based off of the Mustang Mach-E.

The teaser clip showcases a sloped roof-line, which is a key design-feature of the Mustang Mach-E. Yet again, we are pointed in the direction of a Mach-E based Lincoln SUV.

The electric Lincoln SUV would join a dense – yet growing market of electric SUVs. That segment already hosts the Cadillac Lyriq and the Jaguar I-Pace, among many others.
