Gotham Garage was finally able to sell the questionable concept car and motorcycle duo for six figures. And ironically, that was the only six-figure sale that we saw in Car Masters: Rust to Riches Season 4 up until Episode six! With the fame and word spread with Mark and his crew selling the concept duo for an impressive $285,000, many high-end clients got to know of them.

And that is how Shawn Pilot got hold of Jason Oppenheim as he was very much interested in getting a car built by Gotham Garage. His brief was simple, and he wanted a one-off muscle car build but with a futuristic appeal. Mark proposes a radical build based on the Chevy Corvette Mako Shark 2.

Being a six-figure build, the Gotham Garage team goes the extra mile for unique touches all around the car. They modify the exterior and interior of the classic Corvette to be a head-turner. The powertrain and other mechanical components are left unchanged to provide for a balance between practicality and wild appeal.

This Chevrolet build becomes crucial for the shop since if done right, the word will spread like wildfire among the high-end client base, thanks to Jason. This Gotham Garage build also saw the use of exotic materials to bring about the "wow" factor.

Shawn hooks Mark and the team with a surprisingly well-kept early Corvette C3 as the donor car for this high-clientele build. Talking of which, Gotham Garage was approached by Jason Oppenheim for this radical muscle car build. He had got the concept car wind that the shop had done and was quite impressed by the original ideas that the team came up with. So, he pitched on an idea of a complex yet subtle build of a classic muscle car.

He wanted to fuse the essence of classic muscle cars and the complexity of modern technology into this one-off creation. Judging by all the inputs given by Jason, Mark showed him a picture of the Chevy Mako Shark 2 concept which was a concept car from the 60s. Jason was down for the build and surprised Mark and Shawn by offering them a six-figure sum if they got it right.

A Mako Shark 2-Inspired Exterior With Cool Features

The Mako Shark 2 was a concept car designed and showcased at the 1965 New York Auto Show. It was based on the C3 Corvette and was Bill Mitchell's (Vice President of GM Styling Staff) vision of sports cars of the future.

The styling was futuristic and design fluidic. The car still looks fresh and at par with the modern take on automobile design even today. Gotham Garage got ahead with their twist to this already futuristic design to build a unique car for Jason.

The front fascia was given a pricey chin-up job with a custom carbon-fiber bumper. The sides of the bumper were designed to mimic the gills of a shark. The rear fender was stretched to house a much broader set of tires. Jason loves the side-exit exhaust system on the Mako Shark 2 and so Mark incorporated his version of the same onto the build and coated it in chrome.

Complementing the chrome was a set of custom wheels shined to perfection. The rear third quarter was heavily modified. The roofline was altered and a custom fiberglass body panel was created to mimic the roofline of a fastback. The finished design when viewed from the side was reminiscent of racecars of the 60s.

As for the rear fascia, the taillight section was given a custom metal casing and finished off with a ducktail spoiler. Mark gave this build a very unique paint job. It started from the bottom with a darker shade of gray before transitioning to a blue hue for the majority of the exterior. The front custom bumper was further given a custom two-piece metal splitter setup.

A Modern And Sporty Interior Makeover

The other half of Jason Oppenheim's brief was to make his car as modern as possible. And to fulfill this aspect, Mark gave the interior a sporty overhaul with all the modern bells and whistles in terms of technology features. The dashboard was laid with digital instrument cluster bits and the car was given a Start/Stop push button.

The seats contributed to the sporty front as Gotham Garage slid in cool BRAUM racing seats. The steering wheel was swapped for an off-the-shelf MOMO unit. The dashboard was covered in leather which added to its plush appeal.

Retaining The Powertrain For An Efficient Package

As the donor car was showcased to be a late-model C3 Corvette we suspect it to pack either the 190 hp carbureted L81 or the 200 hp fuel-injected L83 motor. Either way, these motors were a bit more inclined towards the efficiency front and which is why the Gotham Garage team didn't fiddle with the mechanical aspect of this build.

A Six-Figure Deal And High-End Exposure

The build was complete and it was showcased to Jason at one of his offices. This was a very crucial build for Gotham Garage that could either take them to the next step when it comes to high-end clients or drop them back to zero. But Jason was impressed with the one-off build and he was more than happy to part with $100,000 for the build.

This build turned out to be a golden goose that helped Mark and the Gotham Garage team make a mark among the high-end clients out there. And Jason's positive response is a clear indicator of more six-figure cars coming out of Gotham Garage!
