The iconic GSX-R line from Suzuki has been continuously optimized since its debut in 1985. The GSX-R750 has long been acclaimed for its reliable power delivery and comfort for a wide variety of riders. Although it hasn’t seen a major design overhaul for 2020, GSX-R enthusiasts will delight in its classic feel and consistency.

This model derives its power from a 750cc powerplant while staying in the weight class of a 600cc supersport bike.  Overall, the GSX-R750 delivers a robust combination of smooth power, comfort, and cost-efficiency.

The 750cc engine in the Suzuki bike features dual throttle valve fuel injection and premium construction. It implements forged pistons along with upper compression and oil control rings coated with chrome-nitride.  The four-cylinder engine is designed after that of a race bike and has transistorized electronic ignition based on MotoGP technology. An Engine Control Module is developed specifically to improve both throttle response and fuel economy.

One of the standard features of the GSX-R750 is Suzuki’s Drive Mode Selector, which offers driving modes for both road and track. The exhaust is tuned for torque optimization and constructed from stainless steel. Shifting is enhanced by a close-ratio 6-speed transmission and back-torque limiting clutch. With upper rev limits of around 14,500rpm and a top speed of 189mph, it’s not necessarily a beginner’s bike.

The chassis of the GSX-R750 is designed for both rigidity and weight reduction. It is fabricated from cast aluminum alloy and features racing-spec Showa suspension in the front and rear. The adjustable suspension provides variable ride height and dynamic handling, paired with an electronically controlled steering damper. The 750cc GSX-R employs 4-piston, twin-disc Brembo brakes in the front and single-piston Nissin calipers in the rear.

The bike, designed for aerodynamics, has an overall length of 79.9”, a width of 28.0”, and ground clearance of 5.1”. Total curb weight measures approximately 419lbs with a standard seat height of 31.9”. A centrally located instrument cluster indicates shift points and can be used as a lap timer. Also included is a tachometer and displays which indicate mileage, trip times, coolant temperature and oil pressure, and current gear position.

Historically, models in the GSX-R line appeal to the senses as an attractive sports bike. For 2020, the GSX-R750 is offered in color combinations of either Gloss Sparkle Black and Pearl Glacier White, or Metallic Matte Black and Glass Sparkle Black. Both color schemes play on themes of contrast with the pairing of glossy and matte finishes.
