Known for the 3D RAM logo on its body, the Raminator is a legend among monster trucks. It is easily the center of attention in any monster truck race, especially in the United States Hot Rod Association’s (USHRA) Monster Jam event. Of course, it wouldn’t do any harm if we take a closer look at this monster truck.

A Legendary Champion

As we know it, the Raminator is a factory-backed monster truck that trumpets the RAM truck brand. It was the brainchild of the Hall Brothers Racing, which was formed in 1986 by Tim and Mark Hall. Hall Brothers Racing soon found success in the world of monster trucks and signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Dodge in 2001.

With the sponsorship deal, the first Raminator made its debut in January 2002 at a Monster Jam event at the Pontiac Silverdome. Its participation in USHRA events lasting just two weekends because of the series’ destructive nature. Hall Brothers Racing prides of being conservative, opting to compete in other events including ProMT, Special Events and Monster Nationals.

The Raminator went on to collect multiple championships. It was the ProMT series champion in 2002 and 2004. From 2002 to 2014, the Raminator took the championship 10 times. It was also the series champion in Monster Nationals from 2003 to 2007, and in 2013 and 2014.

According to the Monster Jam website, the current monster truck is a 2017 Ram 2500 modified to fit into the world of trucks with heavy duty suspension and massive tires. Hall Brothers Racing has this truck underpinned by its own custom tubular racing chassis, as supported by special axles equipped with special shocks and suspension system.

Power for the Raminator is provided by 565-cubic-inch supercharged HEMI engine that delivers more than 2,000 hp of power to the wheels through an automatic gearbox. With this power on hand, the Raminator can go as fast as 99 miles per hour, making it the fastest monster truck as certified by Guinness World Records.

A Show Of Its Own

Riding on super-massive 66-inch grooved racing tires, the Raminator has a height of around 10 feet and a width of around 12.5 feet. When not competing in races, this giant of a truck goes on display in different places across the US.
