One of the original widow-makers, the Dodge Viper is a beast that instills fear within the motoring sphere. And with a Hellcat Redeye engine sitting under the hood, this particular model is no exception.

Over the course of a series, the YouTube channel throtl has taken it upon itself to create the world's first Hellcat Redeye-swapped Dodge Viper. In this most recent video in the series, the guys bring their creation to Roadkill Nights, a drag racing event taking place on a closed section of public road in Pontiac, Michigan.

The World's First Hellcat Redeye-Swapped Dodge Viper Is Insane

The Dodge Viper is an amazing car in its own right. Combining brilliant coupe styling with a chassis to die for and an engine already capable of stopping the world from turning. However, this car swaps out the original 450 horsepower, 8-liter V10 for the power plant typically found under the bonnet of the Dodge Challenger and Charger's Hellcat Redeye variants. In its current guise, the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is capable of putting out a whopping 850 horsepower, a hefty increase from the Viper's standard output.

The car's purpose is to compete in the Roadkill Nights event, as Dodge, the event's title sponsor, challenged several online influencers to build the craziest competitor using only Dodge parts. In fact, the Hellcat Redeye engine as well as the ECU the team used in the build came directly from Dodge. A kind gesture for a bit of promotion.

As for the rest of the car, sticky tires ensure the Viper keeps its power on the road, which is sure to be a tricky task, while the team had to make plenty of modifications to the chassis simply to fit the much larger engine under the stylish bonnet.

From start to finish, the series includes ten videos showing just how much work has gone into this project. Though, with plenty of fierce competition also taking on Dodge's challenge, it won't be easy for the Viper to come out on top. But the so-called Mongoose makes it all the way to the final, narrowly losing to YouTuber Westen Champlin and his 1,500-horsepower Dodge Challenger.
