The eighth-generation Corvette has just arrived as the mid-engine supercar that Chevy should have built decades ago. With an angular, aggressive exterior to match its blistering performance, the C8 is also priced starting below $60,000 and promises a 0-60 mph times in under three seconds. But no matter how good that combination might sound, there's still something great about classic Corvettes—especially the C2 generation in hard-top, split-window form. Admittedly, these cars aren't nearly as comfortable as modern iterations. Enter the phenomenon of restomods and a new Hemmings listing for a wild C2 Corvette.

Not Messing Around

Every restomod should begin like this one, which received a monstrous Wegner Motor Sports 416ci V8 that features a supercharger to bump output up to a claimed 816 horsepower and 807 lb-ft of torque—those are seriously impressive figures given that they were dyno'd at the wheels and on pump gas. Stainless steel headers and three-inch exhaust with Borla mufflers complement the engine, which routes power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Interior Amenities

Of course, the whole point of a restomod is to bring a classic car into the modern era, and this Corvette is no exception. Custom-tailored in leather and suede with accented double-stitch embroidery, the interior features racing harnesses, a roll bar, Dakota digital gauges, paddle shifters, Vintage Air climate control, and a JL Audio sound system complete with a subwoofer and Bluetooth connectivity.

Walk The Walk

While this build clearly walks the walk, it looks going doing so as well. The exterior design highlights the C2's Mako Shark concept car look with flush-mounted, molding-less glass front and rear, a custom billet grille, rectangular exhaust tips, and custom front and rear bumpers. The wheels are from Forgeline and are shod in Nitto drag radials. All told, this wild custom is listed for sale at $599,950 in Bellevue, Washington.
