The Buick Gran Sport was based on the Skylark and first appeared in 1965. The GS had a range of engine options from the early 340 small block on up to the 455 big block in later years. It fit nicely in between bare bones models such as the Chevrolet Chevelle and the Cadillac, but since the luxury brand had no performance model, the Buick was the only option available for those who wanted luxury with a little giddy-up. The example on display today is on sale right now in the pages of Hemmings. Let's take a look at this performance luxury muscle car cruiser.

The car up for sale is a 1972 Bucik GS 350 VIN # 4G37K2Z124707. It was built in the Fremont, California Buick factory in the first week of May 1972 and came with a 350 4-barrel carburetor. It originally came with a Red paint job and black vinyl roof. There are some dings here and there but it was a western car its entire life and therefore is in solid condition. The paint was also be redone at some point.

Strong 350 And Performance Features

While big block equipped cars are the most desirable on the resale market, the 350 4-barrel Rochester equipped motor has more than enough power to motivate the car. It's backed up by GM's TH-350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end. It's also got some modern performance touches including tubular A-arms, boxed rear control arms, and sway bars. This should definitely help keep the rather portly Buick planted.

Great Original Condition

The mileage is listed as 84,273 original miles and it looks like it inside and out. It's a driver and the seller claims it runs strong and tight. It's being offered by Napoli Classics in Milford, Connecticut at a price of $28,000. Seems like a good deal to me and the value of this car will only be going up in the future. Buckle up.
