Nowhere in the world are pickup trucks as prized as in the good, ole' U.S. of A. We've been making them almost as long as the automobile itself when non-descript sedans and utility vehicles were repurposed by inventive farmers and tradesmen. And everyone has their favorite too from the Ford F-Series and Super Duty line to the Chevrolet Silverado and, last but not least, the inimitable Dodge RAM.

Some consider the first three generations of the RAM the most desirable particularly the ones from the mid-1990s equipped with the 12-valve Cummins diesel engine. But what if you wanted a newer truck with the reliability of the previous engine? Well, there's an answer to that. You do a 12-valve P-pump swap! And this modded and lifted 2007 Dodge RAM 2500 is built to rock with gargantuan 1,299 ft.-lbs. of torque and an 11" lift. Let's check out this wild Cherry Red RAM and see if it has what it takes to win over Ford and Chevy fans!

According to the seller, "[t]he owner...started with a low-mileage, clean 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The odometer is currently showing 59,327 miles and the body reflects this mileage. This is an extremely clean truck with only a few minor scratches that can be expected for and older pickup. The body was lifted 3 inches and then an 8-inch Top Gun Customs stage 3 suspension lift was added for a total of 11 inches of lift and Bilstein shocks at every corner as well. Underneath the truck is a Top Gun Customs steering stabilizer, an aftermarket power steering brace, and a set of 44-inch Super Swamper mud tires on Fuel wheels."

But the star of the show here is under the hood and this is no ordinary build but comes courtesy of the diesel pros at Lead Foot Diesel Performance of Monroe, Georgia. They started by pulling the original mill and installing a 12 valve p-pump conversion pictured above. But they went even further adding an SXE 366 Turbo, new exhaust, new cam and crank sensor, over flow valves, new turbo down pipe, boost tube, and a custom wiring harness. It was also treated to a custom mapped EFI Live tune. If you're a coal spewing aficionado it doesn't get any better than this and the results are earth shattering with a dyno tested 625 hp and a stump pulling 1,299 foot-pounds of torque!

Clean, Low Miles And Everything Works

The rest of "Big Red" is "mostly unmodified, clean and complete condition." And with less than 60,000 miles on the odometer and a fresh engine build, it's good for thousands of miles to come. Plus, the radio has been upgraded to a nice Kenwood unit with Focal speakers, JL Audio 10-inch subwoofer as well as an Alpine amplifier. If you're interested it's available for sale right now from Shelton Classics and Performance of Mooresville, North Carolina, for $36,995. Buckle up.
