General Motors got a bit lucky with the timing of the C8 Corvette release, which hit the streets right before quarantines and shutdowns essentially froze the automotive industry in place. The result has been that the internet is now full of videos featuring happy new owners social distancing behind the wheel of their new toys, while aftermarket tuning and modding companies have been able to make headlines by releasing beefed-up versions of the new mid-engined supercar.

But there's been a bit of a delay, it would seem, between Chevy's release of the C8 and the official debut of the twin-turbocharged version that was promised so long ago by the likes of Hennessey Performance, among others. Rumors point to a difficult ECU tuning process hampering the release, though in the meantime, Hennessey's marketing team has been keeping up a steady stream of videos to remind everyone that the company still wants to produce massively powerful versions of existing cars in the lineup, including the hardcore lineup of upgrades available on the Camaro ZL1.

Check Them All Out

Hennessey offers three separate setups for the current Camaro ZL1, all of which offer massive power bumps. First up is the HPE850 package, which produces, as expected, 850 horsepower by adding a lower pulley upgrade to the car's existing 6.2-liter LT4 V8. Other mods include intake improvements, valve upgrades, and an exhaust system. This version comes with a two-year, 24,000-mile warranty from Hennessey.

Of course, everyone should know that Hennessey also builds a Camaro known as "The Exorcist" that's a competitor to Dodge's Challenger Demon. Thanks to a 2.9-liter supercharger upgrade, the Exorcist produces 1,000 horsepower and 883 lb-ft of torque, good enough for a 0-60 time of only 2.1 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 9.57 seconds at 147 miles per hour. But more recently, Hennessey upped the ante again with a Resurrection Camaro, which is actually available for order directly from Chevy dealers and produces an absurd 1,200 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque.
