Hennessey performance is improving upon perfection by giving the Dodge Demon even more power.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon may have ceased production earlier this year, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped it from living on in a number of ways. Dodge themselves keep rolling out technology debuted on the Demon in various newer versions of the Challenger, and although they don’t quite have the ludicrous power that was the Demon’s calling card, they still carry on the Demon’s tradition of ultra-powerful American muscle.

That is, until Hennessey showed up and showed us all what true power is.

The tuning house has decided to make a limited production run of what they call the HPE1000 Demon Upgrade. You supply the Demon and then Hennessey Performance supplies it with an engine upgrade that brings power up from 840 hp to over 1,000 hp.

How’d they do it? Well, a stock Demon comes with a 6.2-L HEMI V8 with a 2.7-L supercharger. Hennessey tosses that puny supercharger away for a massive 4.5-L version and then upgrades various components to handle the additional power. Improvements include stainless steel long tube headers, a high-flow air induction system, upgraded throttle body, upgraded fuel pump and fuel injectors, as well as engine calibration with a full chassis dyno test at the end of it.

Stock, the Demon advertises a 9.65 quarter mile time ending at 140 mph, with a zero to sixty around 2.3seconds. With the HPE1000, that quarter mile time is now down to nearly 9 seconds (9.14, to be exact) finishing at 151 mph and a zero to sixty done in just 1.9 seconds. Power is measured at 1,035 hp with 948 lb-ft of torque.

Of course, it being a Hennessey project you’ll also get Hennessey exterior badges including the HPE1000 name, a serial numbered plaque, and a set of Hennessey Performance floor mats.

The HPE1000 comes with a 1 year, 12,000-mile limited warranty. Only 50 examples will ever be made, so if you happen to own a Demon and think that having over 1,000 hp at your beck and call is something that would please you, then best get on the phone with Hennessey.
