John Hennessey and his Hennessey Performance company might just be the kings of the tuning world. They do everything from their own Venom hypercars, to upgrading all manner of cars, be they muscle cars, pickup trucks or SUVs. A video uploaded onto the company’s YouTube channel shows them taking a new Mammoth 1000, based on the Dodge RAM TRX, out for a first drive with its new customers in the car, so they can experience just what the super truck is like.

Highlighting The Truck's Key Features

In the video, Hennessey looks to show off some of the best features on the Mammoth 1000. One of these features is launching, which Hennessey say is its best trick. To get the best launch, Hennessey put it into sport mode, but turned the traction control back on. Sport mode automatically turns the traction control off. Revving it up to around 1,500 rpm sounds like it is the ideal place before you launch the truck, and then boom, it just takes off and leaves its customers completely in awe of its power and performance. It’s a staggering thing.

All Smiles Inside The Mammoth

It is all smiles inside the truck as the newly upgraded RAM TRX gets put through its paces. The owner of the truck comments on how it must feel when a Camaro or Mustang pulls up at a set of lights next to the truck, only for the pickup to smoke it. The Hennessey representative says that so many rear-wheel drive sports cars will just spin up their tires trying to get the power down, and claims that to beat the Mammoth 1000 off the line, you would need a 911 Turbo S or even a Tesla to be able to do it.

A Staggering Performance Truck

But of course, the TRX can do a lot more. It can go off-road and take families on cruises. It's why the owner states he got rid of his Corvette to keep the truck. The Mammoth 1000 has some amazing stats. It has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, with 1,012 hp, hence the 1000 in the name. The 0-60 time is an unbelievable 3.2 seconds, and it should give the truck a 1/4 mile time of 11.4 seconds, and a speed of over 120 mph. With the Hennessey package, the already wild RAM TRX is at a whole new level.
