The world of performance pickup trucks has been trying in earnest to catch up to Ford's F-150 Raptor for a few years now. With Chevrolet having produced the Colorado ZR2 Bison package and Ram teasing and leaking details about the forthcoming TRX pickup, there's a good chance Ford will have to up the ante in the near future, as well. In the meantime, anyone concerned that their Raptor isn't quite radical enough can ship the truck to Hennessey Performance, where the Texas-based tuners will happily install a range of various packages to beef up Raptors to absurd levels.

For those without that kind of patience—or with a wallet that can't quite keep up—a new listing on the auction website Bring a Trailer featuring a Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 should do the trick.

Sorry, this isn't the absurd 6x6 version that helped make Hennessey's truck packages famous, though this 2017 Raptor has received a wide range of upgrades on top of a well-selected spec from the factory. Hennessey's modifications include bolt-ons like a high-flow air intake system and stainless cat-back exhaust to help the twin-turbocharged V6 under the hood breathe a little better. Of course, an ECU tune is par for the course and, of course, Hennessey backs up the setup with verified dynamometer proof that this truck now produces over 500 horsepower.

This truck also benefits from a ten-speed automatic gearbox that routes power to all four wheels, while the drivetrain also features a limited-slip front differential and an electronically locking unit at the rear. Fox Racing shocks equipped with remote reservoirs and Ford's Terrain Management System help the ride stay smooth no matter the condition and the exterior has been modified with VelociRaptor-branded bumpers, including a brush guard and LED lighting system up front and an integrated trailer hitch at the rear. Bidding currently sits at $40,000 with nine days remaining until the final gavel.
