Watch the Hennessey VelociRaptor show off its moves on the Pennzoil test track.
Hennessey understands their customers want more power on as big a set of tires as possible. That’s why they created the VelociRaptor 6x6 and gave it a set of monster tires to scare off all the other pickup trucks.
But for those looking for a more reasonable VelociRaptor, one that retains the original’s 3.5-L twin-turbo V6 but gives it a giant shot of power to go along with it, then Hennessey also has the VelociRaptor 600.
Unlike previous Hennessey projects where the name starts with HPE, the VelociRaptor is important enough for it to get its own unique name. The 600 still stands for the overall power, which is 600 hp. That’s a fair bit more than the stock Raptor’s 450 hp and is quite noticeable on the road.
Zero to sixty takes just 4.2 seconds, which is a full second faster than the stock Raptor. Quarter-mile times are in the high 12-seconds, which is also a full second faster than a stock Raptor.
Getting the VelociRaptor to produce 33% more power than the original involved a few tweaks. The 3.5-L EcoBoost’s twin-turbos have been modified with a new wastegate and connect to a new intercooler with higher air flow. A new stainless steel catback exhaust further enhances the engine’s respiration, while a new ECU helps manage all the new moving parts.
As with every other Hennessey, installation is done with dyno and test-track verification and comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty.
Also available are some bespoke Hennessey upgrades, including a VelociRaptor front and rear bumper with optional 5 LED light bar. A set of 20-inch, 10-spoke wheels can have a quartet of Toyo off-road tires, while the stock FOX suspension is given a 3-inch lift.
We also highly recommend the Brembo brake upgrades to get this big truck stopped as fast as it can get going.
