The LC, the brainchild of Tadao Mori and Pansoo Kwon, hails from Toyota’s luxury car division “Lexus”. The letters LC in Lexus LC stand for Luxury Coupe. The brainstorming process for this concept car which was presented in 2012 took around 2 years to be finalized. They launched it in the year 2018, exactly 2 years after its first appearance at the 2016 North American International Auto Show. Voilà! They created something which set a benchmark not only for itself but for all the upcoming competitions.

This article here has combined details about everything that we know about the 2021 Lexus LC 500 and its rumored F class variant.

If someone were to ask us to describe the Lexus LC in two words then they would most likely be - Runway King. Before you roll your eyes let us just clarify that no we don’t think that it’s hyperbolic to say so. We know that every car enthusiast out there who is right now reading this could not keep themselves from nodding in our favor.

The LC is available in five different variants, namely-550, 500h, 500 convertible, 500 convertible inspiration series, and the almighty LC-F. All the variants excluding the 500h hybrid model employ a 5.0 liter V8 which can produce 471 hp and a torque force of 398 lb-ft @ 4,800. The base model has the lowest pick-up speed of 4.4 seconds since it weighs the least of all.

The hybrid model has a relatively underperforming 3.5 L V6 engine with a power output of 354 HP, but at the same time, the low fuel consumption outweighs the power difference. It has a maximum combined fuel rating of 29 mpg, which is way more than the combined average of 19 mpg and 18 mpg for the base model and convertible models, respectively.

Talking about the money, the least expensive model can cost approximately $92,950 which can soar up as high as $119,800 for the inspiration series.

Since we know all about the LC and its configurations & features, it’s time to set forth all the changes that we can expect to be brought upon it to make it the F model.

What's New Under The Hood Of The 2021 Lexus LC F?

What tag line do you think will be best suited for the 2022 Lexus LC F model’s market campaign? Any guesses? Time’s up! Well, don’t be too hard on yourself you tried, right! So here’s something that we came up with: “More Power, Less Weight”. This sums up pretty much everything that we can envision for the F.

Let us first focus on the word power. When we say more power, how much more could it be? Is it 400 HP? 500 HP? No, it's all the way up to 600 HP! What kind of monstrous power train will it require for generating such an amount of power? That would be taken care of by a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine that can easily soar to the high power numbers of 660 HP and a torque force of 480 lb-ft. The number 660 is definitely out of the gamut of the supercar models. One thing is for sure: that the Energon under the hood should be able to deliver at least 600 hp to make it worth a competition for its rivals like Porsche 911 Turbo S, Ferrari 488 GTB, and Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe.

Talking about the acceleration prowess, we predict the V8 will empower the wheeler to rage from a complete standstill to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. This just being an estimate, we hope the exact acceleration figures to be below 3.5 seconds, which is the record of the AMG GT R.

Every superhero has a weakness and for the LC it is its heavyweight which obstructs it from giving the best of its efforts. The poundage of the different LC models can range well from 4,340 to 4,540 pounds. We would like to see this issue solved. Probably using some lightweight fiber material will help it to shed some pounds to improve the power to weight ratio.

After a heartful discussion about the magical engines, it’s now time to address the elephant in the room and that will be: When will you be able to show off the Lexus LC F?

It's been over two years since the Lexus hinted that it had something big lined up for the LC. The first thought which spontaneously wrapped our mind was that they were pointing towards the possible introduction of an F marque variant for the LC just like the Lexus RC F. Looks like our gut feeling was never wrong, yet here we are today, still waiting to hear a word from the corporate.

That brings us to the part where we break out the bittersweet news for you. Well for starters the bad news is that owing to tough times during the pandemic as we can no longer expect anything from the manufacturers at least till the end of 2021 since Toyota’s owners view it as a relatively riskier environment, Lexus may shutdown the 2022 LC F project to earn some good profits.

The good news is that everything is still heavily speculated and no official statements are out yet. However, we feel that you won’t’ have to keep waiting any longer than 2022. According to our spy bots, an application has been filed to register a trademark in the name of Lexus LC F indicating firm progress. Trails are being carried out in the open by the engineers which is an omen.

Are you prepared to harness the power which the 2022 Lexus LC F is destined to bring with itself? If not you ought to start right away!
