This compact crossover SUV from Nissan sees an extensive redesign for 2021, marking a new generation of this vehicle for the first time since 2014. The starting MSRP of the Nissan Rogue ranges from $26,745 to $36,525. All four variants are available with AWD or FWD, with the latter coming as standard. The Rogue's 2.5l 4-cylinder powertrain now provides 181hp and continuously variable automatic transmission.

You get 26-27 MPG in the city and 33-35 on the highway, depending on whether you choose FWD or AWD. This new generation of the Rogue comes with attractive styling, better on-road bearing, and improved cabin technology, making the third generation undoubtedly superior to the previous. The 2021 interior takes inspiration from the Nissan Sentra and Altima family sedan.

The Rogue may not be the highest-ranked vehicle in its class, but with a new generation arriving, it may be about to rise up the leader board. Read on for a break down of the exterior, performance, and specs of this vehicle and a look at the 2021 Nissan Rogue interior. We'll also compare the Rogue with its competition.

A New Upscale Generation Of The Rogue

The Rogue enters a new generation for the 2021 model year with a new aesthetic and styling, an extra 250lb of trailering capacity, and new standard features including remote trunk release, rear parking aid, and a rear side airbag. Among its losses are satellite radio, a CD player, and lane-keeping assist.

The Rogue Offers Better Reliability Than Its Competitors

Compared with the Honda CR-V, the Rogue offers less horsepower but more torque and similar fuel economy, and unlike the CR-V, the option of a fully digital dashboard. Pricewise, the Honda has a starting cost range of $26-37K, virtually the same as that of the Rogue. However, the CR-V also offer hybrid options and more cargo space. With all things considered, the Honda CR-V provides more bang for your buck.

Another similar SUV is the Ford Escape. It offers more power and torque than the CR-V but practically the same amount of cargo space. The Escape's price range extends slightly further than the Rogue's, being $26-39K. The Escape also gives drivers decent fuel economy and as with the CR-V, comes with hybrid editions. Again, the Escape has an edge here. The Rogue is a satisfactory vehicle in its own right, but it lacks the edge needed to be at the top of the game in its segment.
