Lexus has a global reputation for fast, daunting, and iconic marvels of modern motor engineering. The luxury division of Toyota has built some of the most comfortable and majestic four-wheelers ever since its inception in 1989. In the model year 2015, the company launched Lexus NX, a compact luxury crossover SUV. The term “NX” stands for “Nimble Crossover”. It was slotted below the mid-size RX crossover. The car was well received by the general public and became a major success around the globe.

It went on to become one of the best-selling cars in Europe. In fact, the NX has now become the best-selling luxury car in Russia. The recent 2021 model has been a hit among car enthusiasts and the 2022 model is here to carry the torch from its NX predecessor. If rumors are to be believed, this Lexus bad boy is set to become the first 2nd generation NX with an array of new advanced features and killer looks.

The countdown to the newest, and most advanced 2022 model of the NX series has begun. Though there were a host of rumors and speculation surrounding this bad boy throughout most of last year, it was only a wild goose chase - that was - until a few months back when someone accidentally leaked and what seemed to be the launch video of the 2022 Lexus NX. The company rectified the error and took down the video as soon as they could, but we all know how quick "Redditers" usually are. Someone saved it and uploaded it on web platforms. On the other side, the internet is buzzing with Lexus enthusiasts who’ve seen the dazzling new version of the car, and can’t wait to get their hands on it. However, we will have to wait for a few more days, until the official launch on the 11th of June 2021.

Key Features and Performance

The Lexus NX isn’t the oldest SUV out there, so it’s only natural that the SUV will retain most of its exterior design. However, if rumors (and the leak) are to be believed, there are a bunch of exciting upgrades to the interiors as well as the exterior of the car. The curvaceous body of the NX seems to perfectly compliment the all-new grille design. There seems to be an entirely new look to the headlights too. A closer look at the leaked snaps reveals a slightly extended stowage compartment at the back, which makes the car look longer than its predecessors. As far as the interiors go, it seems that the much-criticized touchpad in the center has been replaced by a significantly larger touch screen.

Down under, the new version will probably share its platform with the Toyota RAV4. If that were to happen, we might possibly see some carry over to the latest NX version. Perhaps, we could expect the plug-in hybrid system to come over to the brand-new NX, which could boost the overall speed performance as it does in the RAV4 Prime. The base model of the 2022 NX will probably carry the traditional Toyota 2.5L four-cylinder engine, with stronger variants available in superior versions of the car. The base model of 2021 Lexus NX boasted a fuel capacity of 56 liters. The 2022 model is rumored to boast a superior fuel capacity. Similarly, the 2022 NX is also likely to feature a better top speed and 0 to 60 miles per hour time, compared to its predecessors. Excitement’s in check though - it’s not too long before the official launch.

With all the hype surrounding the Lexus NX 2022, it’s only natural to ask if the car will actually live up to the expectations. We believe it will, and there are several reasons why. Firstly, the Lexus NX is an upmarket model, with a fan base that absolutely adores the car. People across almost 70 countries have flocked over the last 5 years to get their own NX. It would be an understatement to say that Toyota's luxury car division has formed a pretty strong customer base for future models of the NX. Also, the leaked video of the unreleased 2022 NX has got people talking. Social media pages, YouTube videos, and blogs about the video leak of the 2022 NX model have seen several hundred thousand views and shares. It is only safe to presume that the sales numbers are already looking good for the new NX model. It's an improvised and upgraded version of one of Europe’s best-selling luxury cars. Almost everything points towards the car being a massive success.
