Porsche announced that another Porsche GT3 R is set to be released in 2023. Unlike the 2022 Porsche 911, another well-anticipated model in the GT3 line-up, the 2023 Porsche GT3 R is expected to be a hardcore version of the GT3 RS, with much greater speed, power, and dynamics. According to the German brand, the 2023 Porsche GT3 R is already in production.

As a matter of fact, the prototype of this classic sports car was spotted at the Nürburgring, as well as on some other racetrack around the country.

The upcoming 911 GT3 R will become the second Porsche race car to be put together on the Type-992 platform after the first appearance of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car lately. The new GT3 RS is expected to debut in 2022 as a 2023 model. For a vehicle that gives an outstanding performance, this 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R is guaranteed to be a bang for your buck.

With the Porsche 2023 Porsche GT3 already in production and the 2022 model still a year away far from hitting the markets, Porsche has the ball at their feet, and they’ll surely keep it rolling.

Known for producing some of the fastest cars on the planet, Porsche maintains its signature look and feel of sports cars, even though it only makes some minor changes to every release. But the most thrilling part about a new Porsche 911 GT3 release is that the stakes always get higher. So technically speaking, the gap between the 2019 GT3 RS and the 2023 GT3 versions is very wide. Porsche has certainly come a long way, especially when you take a look back at the first year of the Porsche 911.

As mentioned, the 2023 Porsche GT3 R is a road-going version of Porsche's next 911 GT3 R race car. Since it will be released a year after the 2022 GT3, we expect some significant similarities between them.

For one, the iconic swan neck-style rear wing will make production, according to Motor Authority. Compared to other prototypes, the wing on the 2023 GT3 R is much bigger. This is added to increase the downforce. Basically, it improves the way the air moves around the car, which keeps you breezing along with great balance and control. And for a sports car, that’s noteworthy.

The most notable difference between the 2023 GT3 R and the 2022 model, at least based on their prototypes, is that the newer GT3 R has additional vents on the hood and the front fenders. What’s more, the 2023 GT3 R comes with a greater front splitter and new side skirts.

The GT3 RS prototype rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The front tires measure at 265/35R20, and the rear tires are slightly larger, measuring at what looks to be 325/30R21.

How will the 2023 Porsche GT3 R Perform?

As said earlier, the 2023 GT3 RS takes after the 911 GT3 R, though it is somewhat closely related to Porsche's 911 GT3 Cup race car. Then again, the 2022 model is closely associated with this new GT3 RS. But, once you recall that Porsche's GT3 and GT3 RS are constructed with their race car equivalents, it all makes sense.

In terms of its performance, the 2023 GT3 R will likely feature Porsche’s driving modes. With these, you can adjust to modes depending on the conditions of either the road or the weather, so you are always in control of your car.

On top of that, the brakes on this model will likely be similar to the large ones on the 2022 911 GT3. According to Porsche, such cast-iron units have a narrower friction ring, which makes the brakes lighter. As such, GT3 R will likely be faster, lighter, and more vigorous on the road.
